Where’s the soil? 🧐
@Snapdragon I'm planning to look for it now. πŸ˜… originally I wanted to divide the two plants.... but I don't think I will, now
It certainly appears severely rootbound. Is it wilting or have yellow or brown leaves especially near the bottom? Are roots showing above the soil? These are some of the signs of a root bound plant
@MusicalRedmint I know they like to be kinda tight in there but WOW πŸ˜‚ that's a beautiful sight isn't it! 🀩
Oh, sry @GuruWildpapaya . I was being facetious/ironic/sarcastic, take your pick. It does, indeed, appear to be severely rootbound. I don't like soil, so I always treat my soil plants horrendously.
@princesspitstop I don't know about beautiful, but at the very least it's... something. I was hoping for something I could still detangle, but I doubt that's feasible.
@MusicalRedmint lol yeah I'm a bit concerned now looking at yours!! Wondering if I should peek at mine!! Haha
@princesspitstop I'm pretty sure I bought it already quite rootbound a year ago. They wanted to make a filled out pot, so they really packed several plants in there, to appear bushier. I've been putting off taking a look at this one for months.

Who needs soil anyway?? Good looking roots!!!
Those roots look fabulous and healthy. I never worry if the top looks good, but at some point they would probably like a little room to expand. Looks like your plant is here for you no matter what 🫢🏻🀣
@elisenavidad, @Hoyaobsessed yes. And exactly. πŸ˜€ next time I'll just mount it and see what it does πŸ˜…
@teacher12 thank you 😊 I wouldn't say no matter what, though. Watering had become such a pain that I noticed I wasn't keeping up πŸ˜…
@MusicalRedmint I think we’ve all been guilty of a little plant neglect. 🀣 my poor prayer plants are just begging for some humidity. πŸ₯Ί
@MusicalRedmint
No worries ☺️
It doesn't look rootbound at all.
Just stick her back into her original pot.
😱😳🀯. πŸ˜†
@CutePolypremum
πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ that's what I love about Greg. The advice.
Phew. And I already thought I would have to buy (and find space for) a bigger pot. Thanks. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
@MusicalRedmint
Problem solved.
Turns out that it's not a problem after all!
Quick fix ✌️ 😁😁😁
If there's no soil, it's not root bound, cause there's no soil to bind it /s
@CutePolypremum loving it. And here on was, thinking I had a problem.
@Araceae so true. Never thought about it that way
In a word: yes. And I reiterate Susan's question: " Where's the soil?"
@CrankyMartian Inside. When I looked from above, there was a little bit visible, and I assume beneath that bit was the remainder. The rest had mysteriously disappeared πŸ˜€
Oh that root porn is amazing Susann. I have so many plants that need re-potted but it's middle of winter here, can't wait for Spring!
@Sassylimey thank you. Though amazing it might be, but I doubt it's a sign of good care πŸ˜‰ it's winter here as well (rn 2Β°C, going down, so about 35Β°F). But I always think that in artificial environments like the one this one lives in, the seasons aren't quite as impactful. I'm just glad, when I think of my soil based plants at all, so I take care of them, whenever I think of them. Though, maybe this one didn't really count as soil based anymore πŸ˜‰
