#WhatTheSuccWednesday Marty my #ZebraPlant is sprouting pups I think. Do I just up the size of the pot or how do I separate them without killing the original? Any help or advise is greatly appreciated. Thank you ☺️ #PlantsMakePeopleHappy

My zebra plant's name is Marty, too!
I used to have one, until i killed it with underwatering. The mother plant just grows pups, forms a clump, dies then the strongest pup takes over, repeat.
@Ma.the.Rebel How sweet that’s a happy plant ! You might want to let the pup get bigger before removing . But if you really want to do it know slice him of the mother plant in the exact form of the joining . No worries about roots just let the pup callous over for a day or two them stick it into its new home . I wet the whole planter to help it take root quicker but others just let them lie on top of soil watering sparingly . So either or works . Just be sure when you cut that it’s sharp enough to avoid damage to mama . Best of luck Marty is a cutie and baby too !
You can keep them together or separate them by taking the plant out of the pot and carefully removing the pups from the base of your mother plant as long as your gentle, it won’t hurt the plants I’ve done this before and how worthy is are very easy to propagate if you decide to propagate them, I would put the pups in a small terra-cotta pot with drainage holes and well draining soil.
@WittyPeppermint mine too! haha lots of people have seen Madagascar apparently haha
