These were ID’d by the app as Hoyas Carnosa. I’ve had both for about 3-4 years with no blooms. The one in comments is a start from my aunt who has constant blooms. All her Hoyas are about 5 miles away in south facing indirect light. This one is on the east of my house. The one without the bows is on the west facing side. I’m new to fertilizer in the last few years πŸ˜” but have used a 20-20-20 and toyed with less water, more water. They are in succulent soil with extra perlite but considering a medium change. Any and all ideas on how to bloom are welcome!! #hoya #HoyaHangout #HoyaHeads #PlantsMakePeopleHappy @MusicalRedmint @Hoyaobsessed

@SmoothPeyote62 this looks like a carnosa, could also be a krinkle 8 carnosa with those ridges on the leaves. Are you asking how to get them to bloom? I have read they need lots of light to bloom, I have mine all in a south window or a grow light. They tend to bloom when stressed. As for fertilizer you need a bloom fertilizer with higher phosphorus, a lot of people have recommended orchid fertilizer.

I have only had a lot of my Hoyas for a year. I have one peduncle growing, and I started using one called Bloom by modern sprout. They say to begin fertilizing 6-8 weeks before the growing season. I just started adding mine.

@TheOddAsity thank you! Yes, how to bloom was what I was hoping for. Thank you! I have no south facing but could put them in a fairly exposed place outside on the south. No grow lights in use but we get a lot of sun in South Florida.
@SmoothPeyote62 in that case, your east window should be fantastic! I have one facing east. It is my trial one, as I am in Utah and it’s COLD. I am seeing how it does. So far it’s good but not enough info to recommend it yet πŸ˜‚
No further knowledge from my side except for the already mentioned late blooms if April's ID is correct (and why wouldn't it be). And yes, I've also heard the high light for carnosas as well. (For example, on basie plants, a youtube channel worth checking out if you want to disappear completely in the hoya rabbit hole πŸ˜‰)
Fingers crossed for blooms in the near future🀞
Hoya carnosa and if no blooms on a plant this size …. More light more light more light . Are you able to place outside in the spring and summer ?? That’s usually my go to if I have a Hoya being stubborn… I throw it outside. Also I good feed in the spring . Carnosa’s are a slow bloomer as in a mature plant . More light ! The specks on your leaves show me the nutrients are great in your soil mix so like mentioned above a bloom booster in spring wouldn’t hurt
Beautiful plant too !
Thanks everyone! It’s outside year round but no direct light. My aunt says her’s are both in direct so I’m going to try that out with the fertilizer. They seem super healthy and just keep growing! Thanks everyone!
Lots of people on here i lnow use super thrive on their hoyas. I use a blooming fertilizer myself year around. They can definately be hard to get to bloom and def dont consider myself a pro on the matter. But some of the things ive had luck with are letting my pots dry almost all the way, as much light as it can take without burning . And not changing their location. Move em to water if needed but they seam to really stop growing alot of times after a location change. Even if its a better location .
I keep most of mine in a south window and use foliage pro super thrive with all my waterings. A lot of mine are young but the ones that are older have bloomed. I also mist their leaves occasionally with miracle grow Orchid plant food as I heard that’s a good trick to promote peduncle growth and blooms.
