I scored this vintage mid century planter for $13 at a flea market! What should I put in it? I need the perfect thing. Iβm a succulent gal, so a cactus or succ is what I want. Iβm thinking something tall since the pot is small. Ideas? #SucculentSquad #SucculentLove #Succulents #SuccerForSucculents #CactusClique #Cactus
@karmynsprops oooo that is a good one!
@Yeeha234 they are a deeper green with mottled red centers.
@BuoyantSandleek I donβt have any euphorbias yet! And @FirstCanna I do like color!
@PapaHempseed πππππ
@WisePΕhutukawa Iβm not sure what a tiger claw is, but I feel like something tall would look good!
@SubAlp Iβll have to google astroloba. I have a different tall haworthia like this and it definitely gives some heightβ¦
@user2d95be45 maybe a VARIEGATED jade? π€

@RJG it definitely has your cacti identified incorrectly. π but thatβs and awesome one. I love that type. Itβs going to start growing like crazy it appears. Youβll have multiple heads soon probably. That one looks so awesome too. Actually if @jana85 can find a loph for sale that would also be a cool one to put in the vintage planter. Or the one you have. Both would be really cool
@PapaHempseed youβll end up putting that devils lettuce in it if itβs sent to you. π . I like that planter also. I might go to antique stores to look for old ones like that now.
@SunnyLancefern thatβs the second vote for that!
@SirLiquorice I donβt have any euphorbias yet so Iβll look into that. I LOVE how adorable lophophora are but idk if I can find one to buy. I have to pretty much order everything online because nobody in eastern Kentucky sells desert plants. I was lucky to find this planter because nearly all the vintage ones I find donβt have holes in them! They usually sell for $10-$15 though, which is cheap!
@Jana85 he is a good reliable source for many awesome cacti and ships fast
@Jana85 that would be super cool to have one of those in that pot. But a obesa would also be pretty awesome. But the LW would be super cool since itβs extra rare and exotic
@Jana85 just message him on instagram and he will send pics and prices depending on how old and large you want to buy.
@SirLiquorice thank you so much! Do you also have a recommendation for a cactus that blooms pretty reliably? I love the flowers but I think the few cacti I own arenβt prolific bloomers.
@Jana85 but an LW would bloom pretty often if getting enough sunlight and heat outside. The flowers only last two days but it will get them pretty often. They just prefer being outside in the heat.
That rebutia is also cold tolerant Iβve noticed some mine survived 15 degrees for a long time while others died and froze half to death. It had no issues with the cold. And the flowers last a few days and more just keep growing and blooming. So definitely one of the very best for flowers. Actually almost any rebutia would be a good choice for lots of flowers. https://planetdesert.com/pages/search-results-page?q=rebutia
@SirLiquorice thatβs super helpful! Thank you so much!!
@Jana85 honestly, I have never heard of many of them. I believe the sellers make up their own names to trick us collectors!!
@Jana85 I got some cold hardy cacti that bloom pretty often... and you really wouldn't have to worry about them in Kentucky winter...
@SubAlp is this the same thing as a climbing Aloe?
@fairficus slightly different. They look more stiff/straight/symmetrical, but I like those too :)
