#FreshLeafFriday! Once again, I’m thwarted by the 5 photo limit, so look for more #NewGrowth in the comments! 1) I’m super excited today as I woke up this very morning to find my #FalseChristmasCactus had finally bloomed for the first time since I got it! The shade is gorgeous! It has a white flower about to open, too, so I think it’s actually 2 plants, but whatever, variety is the spice of life and all that! 🌡🌸 2) My #Geranium has produced its first blooms of the year. She pushes flowers out constantly once she gets going, so I’m looking forward to that 🌺🌺🌺 3 & 4) My #StromantheTriostar is blessing me with two new leaves, and one is almost open! I can’t wait to see it. I was so nervous about getting this plant, because I’d read they were β€œdifficult” but I’ve kept her soil moist and the humidifier full and she has been content πŸŒ±πŸ’– 5) My #PhilodendronBirkin has a new leaf which looks almost entirely white, and I’m not sure that’s good (for photosynthesis). Hoping those faint green markings will become more prominent. Anyone else have this happen before? #GregGang #GregFam #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #PlantTherapy #Philodendron #PhiloFlock #TriostarStromanthe #ZonaleGeranium #BloomingSuccs #babevila
More fun! My #EasterCactus is in full bloom, and I love the flowers. I’d never seen one before I got this one! Crazy, right? Also, due to the plant overflow in my house, I got this cheap yet awesome shelving unit to hold some of my plants and I think it turned out great! And in the last pic my #PhilodendronBirkin is putting out another new leaf near the bottom and I can already tell it’s going to be pretty 😍
They all look so happy! πŸ’•πŸ€ͺπŸ™Œβ€οΈπŸŒ±
I love your Easter cactus. My friends Easter cactus is living with me right now and it’s so pretty with its star shaped flowers isn’t it. I’m enjoying it now that I’m not so afraid of killing it. I never had one of these cactus before and it’s pretty. πŸ€ͺπŸ™ŒπŸ’•πŸŒ±
@SportyWhiskfern it’s my first one too and I love it! Very pretty. Now I need a Thanksgiving cactus to round off my collection haha
I love Easter & Christmas/Thanksgiving cactus blooms!! These are so lovely. I am thinking about getting another one, as my old one died.
@JesssJungle I had to stop at the grocery store on the way home, and they had Easter cacti with red flowers. Of course, I had to get one so my first one would have a friend. πŸ˜‚
@BabeVila Hey Shannon, maybe it is just as well they limit us to only 5 photos per posting LOL πŸ˜† Sounds like spring had really sprung in your household so incredible to see all the blooms and new growth! Although you do know I put much of it down to your fertilizer (wink wink πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰)...and your green thumbs LOL πŸ˜†
@Seymour I agree; I’d probably post every single little detail if they allowed unlimited photos 🀣
@BabeVila actually i tried earlier to contact you, they're having a sale!!!! πŸ˜€πŸ˜€ See more in what I sent
@BabeVila I wouldn't mind if the photos would post in the same order I put them in...and I would definitely add more photos than I do...but it can be a bit annoying...and losing my typing at times ...Greg, good with some glitches!
@Seymour My photos always post in the order I put them in, but I have seen others complain about the same thing. I DO get frustrated once in a while when I’m trying to edit a post for autocorrect mistakes; I will tap where I want to delete/type but as soon as I hit the first key, the cursor goes to the bottom of the post and if I’m not paying attention, it is a pain to find my spot again, lol. But now that I’m getting used to it I just expect it and wait to type until I’ve found my spot again πŸ˜‚
@BabeVila yes, as I say Greg is good, but with glitches. Often my "best" picture can't be seen in the post and if I go to edit, it can end up being posted twice. And I often find errors due to the "autoincorrection" by my phone.
But all these glitches don't seem to stop me...I am not sure if that says something about Greg or about me? LOL πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‚πŸ™ƒ
@Seymour I think it says that Greg is just great, glitches and all. Lol
The white leaves are normal as a birkin grows. Over many months they will turn green. Basically, your plant has all the green it needs to thrive, so it’s making more leaves without them so it can grow. When old leaves die off it will turn green to correct the energy supply.
@ThisCalatheaCan thank you! πŸ™πŸ» I’ve missed you on the app! Maybe I just haven’t seen your posts, but it’s nice to β€œsee” you 😊 I appreciate the education!
