This guy just started dying over the spring. He gets watered weekly and won’t come back. Can anyone help me? #Cactus #needadvice

This plant looks to be rotted at the top, from overwatering.

First I would cut the squishy parts off the top and let that part callous over. The completely brown stalk cannot be saved so I would pull it out of the pot and see if there is anything viable under the soil line. If so you can cut that part off and try to root it.

This cactus needs a very well draining gritty soil so it will need to be repotted in a pot with drainage holes and in the proper soil. Something like this is what you need: Bonsai Jack Succulent and Cactus Soil - Jacks Gritty Mix #111-2 Gallons – Fast Draining – Fight Root Rot – Optimized pH
