The nice thing about bringing home new plants to join our family is they get to quarantine in my bedroom. Maybe I’ll keep these ones in here for good #ChineseEvergreen #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantsSavedMyMentalHealth #RescuedFromLowes #LowesShelter
so cute 😍
@PoliteAf thank you!
They need no sunlight??
@YernPlain63 I’m not sure what you mean? They’re in a window ✨
@YernPlain63 The pictures were taken when it was dark outside I think. 😉
Nice plants👌👏
Love these plants!🪴 💚♥️😍🙌🏻
@CourtlyKingfern Me too! I’m so excited to watch them grow. I know they’re slow ones but such pretty colors
@GoPlantGo Thank you! Never had any of these. Very pretty!
twins 💚
@itsdesiree_ Twinsies! 👯‍♀️ How long have you had yours?
@LiftLashPlant 2 weeks tomorrow!! she’s thriving in the self watering pot she came in so i haven’t changed out the old soil yet
@itsdesiree_ Nice! One of my plants started getting mold from these pots so I’ve been afraid to use them as intended but now im curious if I should try them again. Your soil doesn’t stay damp constantly?
@LiftLashPlant it does stay damp and i noticed a good few of my plants didn’t like a self watering pot. so those that didn’t i stuck to a schedule but the evergreen specially i haven’t had any problems with so far. i’ll keep my fingers crossed if not i’ll change her to a clear pot to keep an eye on the roots
@itsdesiree_ Cool maybe while I have them isolated in my room I’ll using the pots self watering feature. I have some gnats in the other room they aren’t too bad but that’s another reason I’m worried about anyone’s soil being too damp right now.
They’re beautiful!!!
We have such similar taste in plant babies 😅😍
@LoveLeeLife I love that. You have good taste then 😂
@LiftLashPlant I just read that you quarantine New plants that you bring home. Should I do that? I bring at least a new plant home every week.. I just throw them in with all the other ones😱
@BestSulluspurge I used to do the same thing until I learned why it’s such a good idea to quarantine! I brought home a plant from Lowe’s that had mealy bugs in it. Didn’t notice it until I had it for about a month. I acted quickly and so far it looks like my other plants are safe but it was scary for a few weeks constantly checking all the plants for mealy. Pests can be very contagious!

Now anyone knew coming home has to stay separate from the pack for 30 days maybe a few days longer to be safe. Most pests life cycle is 30 days which is why I might not have noticed that plant had pests.

I used to constantly bring home plants too but now I only bring home 2-4 at a time and they all go in the bedroom til I know they’re safe.
And I wouldn’t bring anymore later even into quarantine bc then you’ll have to wait longer to make sure the earlier ones in quarantine are still safe. So if I bring home 2 plants no more plants for 30 days.

Honestly it helps save money too. I was going crazy getting new ones and it’s nice to spend time learning how to take care of a few new ones at a time since they all have different needs I feel like working on my plant knowledge is less chaotic.
