@MoorePlantsPls2405 VT is SO beautiful....even the snow. I'm so glad you posted this....such response!!! Haha....knew your baby was too good for the comments!πŸ˜‰
OMG that is beautiful I love the colors on the flower!
@cascadianroots thanks me too! So cool
Thank you for this post!!! It really is amazing. I LOVE weird and odd ones too!!! Just peeped your oasisπŸ₯°πŸ₯°πŸ₯° PS I lived in VA Beach for 20 years....small world right?!
@PlantEsteem Oh cool! Definitely small world. I was born and raised in Amish country Pennsylvania but Virginia Beach had been home for 13 years now.
@PlantEsteem I love your collection.
@SirLiquorice wow your cactus collection is FABULOUS
@MoorePlantsPls2405 Nice! I moved to the country up in VT about 6 years ago....we may have passed each other in good old VA Beach one time or another. Too much jet noise....but I do miss the food and some friends. So nice to meet you!!! πŸ˜„
@PlantEsteem nice to meet you too! I agree about the jet noise lol we just bought a house off London Bridge Road - directly next to the base. Oh well…small price to pay I suppose. I bet Vermont is beautiful.
Yours is really cool. My Demigorgon sometimes opens the petals weird. Last couple times it did. I want one with a different flower now. I like how they are always weird
How beautiful. This make me want to really get into succulents @MoorePlantsPls2405 but I don't think they would do well here in Indiana. How old is your plant? Does li flower yearly?
@SirLiquorice oh that’s still super cool. I love that color
@Stall54Jo succulents can grow anywhere with the right care. Cactuses usually bloom in the spring and summer. There are succulents that are cold hardy. Sempervivum and sedum varieties can withstand negative temperatures and snow, etc. Here’s my outdoor arrangements.
Oh my gosh WOW! I have never seen anything like that!
Absolutely stunning 🀩
@MoorePlantsPls2405 I don’t collect many succulents cuz I live in Pennsylvania mountains which are like anti-desert πŸ˜‰. My tropicals love the humidity. There’s a few succulents I can’t resist. I’ve had a lifesaver in my cart several times 😍. I’m tryingβ€” this guy surprised me by actually rooting. Fingers crossed 🀞🏽
@Kwanna if you have a bright window they’re good with that. Sempervivum and sedum are cold hardy so they can be outside all year even in snow.
@Colin πŸ‘€πŸ‘€πŸ‘€
Even just the color and look of your plant without the flower looks really cool. I like it better than others I’ve seen like mine. The flowers almost look fake they look so cool. I am going to try and find another one with a different flower locally. They have a big one nearby but I don’t know what the flowers will look like. Might just buy it and wait to be surprised. My desert rose sure surprised me
Lovely it is πŸ’
@SirLiquorice how long did it take for yours to bloom? Mine is healthy, has new growth, but hasn’t bloomed yet.
@Stall54Jo I live in NY and my succulents do great. I don’t plant any in the ground and keep most of mine indoors all year. I love succulents.
@MoorePlantsPls2405 that is breathtaking
@Krislindq I know I’m not @SirLiquorice but I just got this one about a month ago and I slowly introduced to direct light. But basically as soon as it was outside in the sun it started growing flowers.
Oh man friends…look at this one!
It's beautiful!
Wow! I have never seen a bloom like this 😍 thanks for sharing
I’ve wanted cacti for a while but now- I NEED SOME!!! 😱😱😱β™₯️β™₯️β™₯️
@SirLiquorice wow totally looks like a Demigorgon lol
@MoorePlantsPls2405 oooh I haven’t seen a variegated one!
@Krislindq I got it last year and it already had a flower about to bloom. Since then it has bloomed at least 3 or 4 times. It seems to bloom pretty often in the summertime under the right conditions if watered enough
@Krislindq I have had some buds form that ended up dying and never blooming so it would’ve bloomed even more. I think it needed more water at the time to grow more flowers because it’s so hot here right now
@MoorePlantsPls2405 it I find one that looks like your cactus here I’m definitely buying it. So awesome looking even without the flower. You found a really really good one there
@TigerGarden yeah Demigorgon seemed like the perfect name for it. I need to find pic of the first flower
Love your hens and chicks!!! That arrangement😍🀩
@TigerGarden here’s some pics from when it first bloomed I think
@TigerGarden that’s so cool that you try to save the damaged and dying plants to give them a second chance. I’m the same way in many cases. I tend to want to try and save them when I see one’s being neglected or damaged. And a lot of times the damaged ones end up growing to look much cooler and more unique than a normal one. Damaged cacti will grow in some much cooler and more unique ways sometimes. Which is why some people even purposely use a hot nail to damage them to cause unusual growth. But I haven’t tried that myself I just look for the different ones
@MoorePlantsPls2405 maybe I’ll move mine outside for now. I have it in a window that gets full sun most of the day but maybe it needs more! Thank you
@SirLiquorice do you water it a lot? I go by the Greg app but it’s usually like every 2 weeks I think.
@Krislindq I water mine about every 8 or 9 days. It’s been outside here in Texas sun where it’s been 108 degrees and staying over 100. Even at night it can be in the 90’s or high 80’s so I do need to water it more often right now. It seems to need more water than some of my other cacti and succulents. If I don’t water more often it will start to look dehydrated and the flowers may just die instead of bloom. You still want to be careful not to over water and rot it. But it doesn’t seem to be very rot prone. It actually seems to like being watered more often if you want it to look it’s best. It will survive if not watered as much but it won’t look as good or bloom as good.
It’s so beautiful 😍😍 I almost thought it was part of the pot in the first pic 🀭 loovveeee the weirdos 🀩
Wow! I’ve never seen one of those! So cool! πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ˜
@SirLiquorice This is awesome too! πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ˜
how pretty!!!
I still like going back to look at the pics of your post. That one just looks so awesome the way the body of it looks and then with the flower it’s so amazing. The body of mine looks more plain and boring compared to yours
Wow that is so cool looking
That’s so cool!
@SirLiquorice me neither but now I can’t live without it hahaha
@SirLiquorice it doesn’t need a lot of water. More light than anything. I have mine in full sun
@PlantEsteem thanks 😊
@Localplantlady me too!!!
Oh how amazing! 😍😍
