@arden yesss! I love just sitting outside and staring at him... Lol My neighbors probably think I'm a weirdo... π
@Esmeralda thank you, mother nature is done most of the work tho... xD He was extremely yellow when I got him, but he's getting better now... (: Got him at an estate sale for $10!!
@WholeRockcress aw I'm sorry to hear about your sad Jade! If you have any questions, feel free to ask! If I can't answer them, I can probably direct you to someone who can... (:
@WickedValkyrie hereβs some photos. And it rained all day yesterday so sheβs pretty moist. Usually I just wait for Mother Nature to water herβ¦
@WholeRockcress she doesn't look too bad to me... Looks like maybe some sun burn spots... Does she ever get direct light while her leaves are still wet? I like to keep mine in the shade until he dries off π€
@strawberrymoon what do you think about @WholeRockcress Jadeππ?
@WickedValkyrie had her in full sun, got burned, moved to indirect light. Yesterdays rain was all sheβs been watered in about a month. She has a lot of new growth coming in. She never gets wrinkly, just drops leaves when unhappy π
@HeadSoftcane haha yassss! I've been naming (most of) the props from him after the actual Zeus's children too! Lol (:
@WickedValkyrie i donβt know if thatβs actually sunburn for the darker brown spots- the lighter, corky (?) looking ones are def sunburn but the dark brown seems like fungus or some sort, might be bc of the rain getting on the leaves.
@WickedValkyrie sheβs in a 6β pot and stands 8β tall. No yellow or translucent leaves, just falling. You can slightly bump her and they fall off, I did end up trimming her sunburnt leaves with sterile scissors to make her look better. Now sheβs looking kinda bare lol. I also brought her inside to dry out. Itβs only in the 50s today. And those leaves I just stuck in her pot.
@strawberrymoon it only rained yesterday and been in bright indirect light since it didnβt adapt to full sun (two months ago) and I havenβt watered for a month until it rained yesterday
Aww @WholeRockcress she's a little nakey now, but that should encourage more growth since you removed the unhealthy leaves... You wanna be careful planting unhealthy leaves in the same pot tho, cuz it could spread whatever was making them sick. As for the size:pot ratio, my Zeus is in a 7" pot and stands about 11" tall, so you're not too far off the mark... However I will say, Zeus is a single plant with a trunk that's about 6" around. π€π€ Also what kind of soil is it in? @strawberrymoon do you think it could be that her pot is too big? I'm not sure what could be causing any fungal issues if it's only been watered once in the past month... π€π€π€
@WickedValkyrie noted! Iβll take those leaves out and toss them! Thank you so much for your help and yes, I thought about planting in a smaller pot just to be on the safe side but sheβs has so much new growth
@WholeRockcress luckily for you it's growth season, so she should be able to handle a repot! She *may* lose a few baby leaves, she may not. Luckily even if she does, once she gets over the initial transplant shock, she should start pushing out more new growth. Maybe give it a few days tho since you just gave her such a big haircut. Don't wanna do too much at once, y'know? Also, just in case it is a fungal issue, make sure you're washing your hands before handling any other plants or it could spread... If you do decide to repot her, get you a nice succulent soil. They need very well draining soil. (: I've had pretty good luck with mixing the Miracle Grow Cactus and Succulent soils. But I live in SoCal so it's already a pretty dry climate...
@WickedValkyrie hand washing is a must for me. Iβm a germaphobe π and Iβll see how she reacts to her haircut first
@WholeRockcress sounds like a great plan! π
