My husband is not a plant lover. But knows I am. And also has no clue what plants I haveβ¦ but did see this Venus fly trap at the store and knew I didnβt have it. Brought it home to surprise me for Valentineβs Day.

@StoutBahiagrass I have a Berkey filter. I was planning on using that water unless thatβs not going to be filtered enough.
@TimmerAnn1002 Repot it and give it space to grow. But not to much right away
Undersoak as a watering method and mist the top soil.
During watering move it to a dish with distilled water and leave it for 15 to 30 minute then move it back to a pebble tray to drain and dry over the next week or so.
Keep it constantly moist but not waterlogged.
A soil with organic matter, coco coir, bark. and perlite will provide appropriate nutrients and water management.
Do not use any other water type than distilled, reverse osmosis, or rainwater.
A Britta filter or any such similar thing is an absolute no go
Keep the humidity high around this plant. Either with a pebble tray, a humidifier, or a dome or covering.
Supplement live insects rather than fertilizers.
The roots are delicate and do not tolerate fertilizers or mineralized waters well.
