I need help with Virgil!
Virgil is my Butter Fern who is slowly declining, and Iβm not sure what to do for him. If anyone has any suggestions, I would appreciate them. There are two pics on his file. One the day I repotted him, the second today. He had been in an upstairs hallway with very little daylight, so I recently (approximately a week ago) moved him to a new shelf in my entry way. Heβs closer to the light but not in direct light. Iβll admit I have watered him more quantity wise than the app has suggested because the soil is still dry after that amount. Iβm not sure what size his pot is, I donβt know how they are measured. Iβm new to houseplants.

1ft to light, indirect
5β pot with drainage
Last watered 1 month ago
First thing to note! They LOVE humidity. If the leaves seem dry, it's a humidity issue. Place on pebble tray or invest in a humidifier. [NOTE: mistibg does not shit, unless it's every 5-10 minuts with a gallon of water]
Secondly, you should only water if the top two inches are dry. Eyeballing the surface is surefire way to overwatering. Top can be dry like sand, bottom would be forest floor damp.
Oh and the pots are measured from the top, where the pot is widest
