Happy Holidays Plant People! I have several pitcher plants and boy has it been a learning process! I read where they go dormant in the cold months but I’m not sure what that entails. I have recently added plastic around the screened in porch (I have WAY too many plants to bring them inside!) and bought a greenhouse heater, I keep it set at around 61 degrees in there. Anyway, my pitcher plants have A TON of new leaves but none are producing pitchers that are on the porch, the ones inside ARE producing but slowly. So my question is, with all these new leaves and no pitchers, do I clip off several of them that have not produced pitchers or leave them there until spring finally rolls around? I have one pitcher left from the summer but no new ones. The part on the leaves that produce the pitchers is just dried up and dead. I was told that I needed to add more light so I bought 2 new lights and have my pitcher plants hanging directly under the lights. I’m now feeding them with the marine spray and water and the plants themselves look veryvey happy but no pitchers. Do I just need to not worry about it until spring? I realize I have asked this question before, but I wanted to give details and pictures so you pitcher people would have more information so you can know what I’m talking about. @Ponytailmom They are tropical plants so don't go dormant like sarracenia pitcher plants.

That’s strange, the lady I got them from told me that they do go dormant. I will need to do my own research I guess, Thank you so much for your reply Seymour! Have a very Happy New Year!
