Damn I’m not even trying to talk Sh*t about this plant - butttt this plant has been in every corner of my childhood and adolescent years. EVERY corner. my dad has propagated the same two house plants since I could remember - the purple passion and golden pothos.
So my daughter asked him if he could make her a “baby” one and he gave her a whole ass plant 😭😭😭 she was soo happy, thrilled and excited to add another plant - and I’m just staring at the exchange like “noooot purple rain” like why didn’t she like the pothos?

Poor plant haha. I recently bought a starter purple velvet plant and my boyfriend's eye just lit up. He said "My mom had one." His mother passed from Cancer a few summers ago. I later learned from his aunt that when he was little he would gently touch the fuzzy leaves and say "kitty!" So this plant hold pleasant childhood memories for him. But, anyway, advanced condolences to your daughter. Lol.
