I'm pretty sure your fig will need more water since figs are found in rainforests (iirc). I pretty much live in a rainforest myself (except it's less tropical and has a lot more coniferous trees), and I recommend you water about once a week or more.
It can also be from a problem related to soil, such as rot or low quality soil for the plant.
