Need tips for my new Schefflera (Dazzle)?

#Schefflera
@sarah10orio I just got a new Schefflera (Dazzle) plant last week and I’d really like to keep it alive. I saw yours and they look so beautiful and healthy. Can you give me any tips so I don’t kill this one?

Keep the spidermites off it! Seriously, if you have Bonide systemic houseplant insect controlοΏΌ- use it. Spidermites have found their way to ALL my scheffleras οΏΌat one point or another.

They like bright light, but not direct light. I let the soil dry between waterings and it seems to help it push out new growth- I even have aerial roots on two of them now!

I've put the big one outside under a tree for a few months and that really helped it kickstart new growth; it hadn't had new growth since I brought it home.

There's a tiny one I keep in a west-facing kitchen window and it does really well.

I have also trimmed one to propagate the top and encourage more growth from the bottom and it worked out well for me.
My client neglects hers and I watered it and it got all new growth. It’s in a bright room and gets INdirect light. It had dead aphids ALL over it!!!!
@sarahsalith thank you so much!! I will go get some Bonide for sure. Does it like humidity? I’m currently misting my plants often because it’s so hot here still. My pothos are getting crispy even with butt-chugging. πŸ˜©πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ @Jilliebeanstalk so glad you rescued your client’s plant!!
