My partner let me pick out some new babies from MCG and he paid for them for our anniversary! We are on the struggle bus πΈ right now so I think itβs pretty awesome, plus look at the cool plants I scored ! A variegated ghost plant that looks like a pastel neon princess, two variegated cacti, ice plant which Iβve been coveting since I saw @vvveloβs, a sweetheart Hoya and an Echeveria Dionysos. If I can keep the humidity in this place low enough, they are going to be β¨Gorgeousβ¨ I havenβt had time to pot anything yet but Iβm hoping to get to it tomorrow. @BabeVila Thatβs a nice anniversary gift! Youβve got some great selections. I havenβt tried any cacti yet, but I am being tempted. I live in South where itβs hot and humid in the Summer. I lost several last Summer d/t overwatering/root rot. I found that my pots donβt dry out as quickly as they do in winter when weβre running electric heat. I have been getting more of my succulents in to terracotta pots. Even with terracotta pots I have to be careful with watering. I stick the bamboo skewers in and leave them a minute or two. If that stick doesnβt have any dirt stuck to it but it feels even the slightest bit damp, I am holding off on watering. I have some succulents that according to the app havenβt been watered in over 2 months. I am trying to learn to be patient with watering!! Good luck with all those gorgeous new plants!

@RefinedSandwort That is really smart to leave the skewer for a minute! I actually lost a few succulents lately too from the humidity in our new apartment. We arenβt used to itβgot spoiled with central air before. So Iβm having to adjust my plant care big time. I always use a moisture meter, but Iβm going to start letting it sit for a little longer. Iβm having a lot of trouble with fungal spores too. π Im keeping Captain Jack in business. π€£We got a window ac so that should cut down on the humidity!
