My #VariegatedStringOfHearts is giving me lots of #NewGrowth lately, which really makes me happy 😊 I can’t believe how long she’s gotten! I had her wrapped around a heart shaped trellis for a good while, but her vines were just growing too fast to keep up, and I missed seeing her flowing free, so I patiently unwrapped her and couldn’t believe the length! lol. Love it! Love the name too 😍 I was a big Hamlet nerd in high school & always said if I had a daughter I'd name her Ophelia lol.
Mine started as just a tiny cutting about a year ago, so I've been coiling the stems around in circles on top of the soil to encourage more roots to take hold. I've been amazed how quickly variegated SOH revert to green if they don't get enough light, but then just as quickly go back to pink in brighter light 😛

Does anyone remember the music group called "The Band"?
They played for Bob Dylan for a while and then went on to live together and work on their music, which to me when I listen to it, is incredible.
Their last performance together was made into a film called "The Last Waltz", put together by Martin Scorsese.
Anyway, that's from my generation and I've streamed it many times. There's a song in there called "Ophelia, which I can still hear and picture in my mind...
So, thanks for naming your cutie patootie after one of my favorite bands.

I'm a music nerd and I grew up on classic rock thanks to my dad 😛 Most people only know the song 'The Weight', but I watched 'The Last Waltz' in high school (big Scorsese fan) and got into them after that. It's funny they're considered a classic southern rock band despite being Canadian 😜
