Any advise?
1. A friend gave me a huge fenestrated monstera, that was in dirt, do I put it in dirt? Can I add it in water?
2. Long story short, I cut up 5 monsteras, all the way to the stem, with roots,so I add these in water or dirt?
3. Why are the leaves yellow and becoming crusty on the monsteras in the vase cuttings? Any advice? I donβt want to remove them, donβt have much space since itβs the winter for nowβ¦
4. Why the heck is my monstera becoming yellow?? Yesterday it was green, now itβs yellow, I watered it because it was time. Advice???

@ModestlyAlfalfa Hello! I would think you need to plant them in some good soil! That is what they are used to, correct? If they were in my care, I would replant them. Also, did you use tap water? Probably need distilled or purified. The chemical and overload of minerals is not good for them. They are probably in shock. Repot them and keep the soil moist not soaked and se them in some medium light and leave them alone except for a little water when needed and see what happens, that is what I would do if I were in your shoes- good luck πͺ΄πΊ
Well βdirtβ as u put it as long as theyre rooted but make sure u use βsoilβ appropriate for planting houseplants. Monsteras will propogate in water or soil, but since theyte rooted, i would get a good chonky plant mix w/perlite, coir, orchid bark, lava rock & maybe a bit of Sphagym moss to make a good Aroid mixture (i use Mollys aroid Soilless plant mix) but u have to order it and sounds like u need something right away. Also, make sure u plant it in a pot w/holes for drainage and use filtered water or tap that sits out overnight to allow Cl-, etc to dissipate. Ur also gonna need a vitamin after a time as long as ur mix is fresh when u pot it (SuperThrive) Amazon $12. Use 1/4t/gal filtered wster. Also dont water until u can stick a chopstick into pot and it comes out clean & dry
@Ponytailmom uh, were we typing at the same time or do ee just share a brain??? Lol

If I were you, the first pic I would wash all the dirt off and keep it in water that way the roots can grow some more before going into soil. The yellowing plants in the base may be turning yellow due to lack of nutrients. The last monsters from costa farms just snip the yellow leaf. It may be from pests so I would spray the whole plant with captain jacks once a day until it looks better. It also may just be from the plant focusing its growth to the other leaves/roots. I would also repot that plant into a soil/perlite/orchid bark mix :)
