Happy #freshleaffriday #greggang!

Today I finally got some #outdoorgrowing chores done, starting with cutting the flower stalks off my #rhubarb.

Our four plants have quickly turned into over twenty with the biggest one putting out these massive leaves! When I bought new loppers at the beginning of the growing season, this was not the job I had in mind πŸ˜‚

Luckily, I have several recipes and my husband and kiddos love to eat it so it'll be put to good use!

That’s a huge leaf!
Fantastic, Ashley! And great photos!

Is that cauliflower-looking thing a rhubarb flower?
@CorvidFan that's exactly what it is!
Haha! That's pretty amazing 🀩

I'm a novice in the veggie growing game. With only a small terrace area, I'm starting small but I am starting!

And oh my goodness, there's so much to know! Just small details like which flowers buds to remove (chives, sticks in my brain) and which to let grow. I planted a horseradish last year (basically foolproof; makes for a good confidence builder. And it smells amazing!). It produced a huge flower stalk this year (and numerous offshoots, which were expected).

Internet to the rescue...I decided to let the flower stalk do it's thing, for now. Might as well keep the pollinators happy while I'm learning!

Thanks for sharing your pics, Ashley! Inspiring! And your property looks so peaceful πŸ™πŸΌπŸŒ·
@CorvidFan thank you!

Starting small is important because there is SO much to learn and every year is different!

One year my radishes bolted (went to seed) and I found out that not only are they edible, but I actually like them way more than radish roots πŸ˜‚

I'm still learning as I go, but I have taken some classes so I'm happy to help if you run into anything that stumps you πŸ™‚
That is so cool! Vegetables intimidate me lol! But I am growing strawberries and raspberries this year! Maybe I’ll work my way up from fruits to veggies
@BabeVila strawberries are a great place to start!
