Wildflowers in WA
As we move towards September and spring here in Perth, Western Australia, I am reminded we are moving towards wildflower season with phenomenal displays of wildflowers in this state.
So if anyone ever makes it to WA (Western Australia, not Washington State although I hope to get there one day !), consider coming in our spring (September)

A YELLOW KPF?! ๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ˜‚ omg that's gorgeous... But I'm stryggling enough with my green one at the mo! Lol ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ Goddamn plants that like evenly moist soil! ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ He's got bloody root rot (have you ever seen a KPF 's roots? They're like a brillo pad, honestly I've not clue how to go about cutting the rotting ones! Or even finding them tbh lol... Another #FAAFO moment approaches I think ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚).

Beautiful wildflowers though honey! ๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿ’š A couple of local girls and I recently invaded a patch of waste land near mine and seeded some native wildflowers, they've really come on in this nice late weather we're having! (The foxgloves have died back now, but the cornflowers, poppies, primula, campanula are all rioting!... It's a pollinators paradise at the moment ๐Ÿ๐ŸŒผ) and it's stopped the local chavs just chucking their rubbish over the fence too (it's literally 10ft from a bin! ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ) xxx
@JenniB81 Hey Jenni, nice to see your comment, hun ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ‘ Iโ€™m not game to check my KPF roots but I have bought several packets of wildflower and KPF seeds so I can add a little nature and color to the outside and hopefully attract some more birds ๐Ÿฆœ and bees ๐Ÿ . Not that there is much space.
And hopefully I will be travelling south to Albany in early September as I help landscape a garden for a friend so will see lots of wildflowers on the way.
Wow the color of the wildflowers offers a nice contrast to the graffiti background, maybe Banksey needs to visit and add a few of his artworks

I love your beautification so thanks for sharing, even adding a few plants to some bare ground adds to an area.
I wonโ€™t ask you which graffiti tag in the background is yours ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜‚
Amazing photos. Thank you ๐Ÿ˜
@Seymour Amazing & Gorgeous. I've never been to AU. I'm cheap, and that is an expensive trip. BUT, I'm not so cheap that it isn't in the plans for retirement. We will visit at some point after I retire in 7 years (and counting,).
@JenniB81 Your wildflower patch is beautiful and it serves a higher purpose. Way to go!
I will venture to ask. What is a KPF? What is a chav?
Simply gorgeous
@Seymour thanks for sharing these flower fields!! Love the cotton lavender plant!! ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’›
Aww I thought you meant Washington State but now I know lol. It's a lovely state that's why we call it Emerald City. I want to make it to Australia hopefully one day. The wild flowers look so bright and beautiful ๐Ÿ˜
Beautiful photos @Seymour ! I really love all the fields of flowers ๐ŸŒธ ๐ŸŒบ ๐ŸŒธ
@Seymour
Oh I just love all those pretty colours I do adore flowers ๐ŸŒบ never buy them though Sad to see them die off better to see them in the ground as nature intended ๐Ÿ˜
@JenniB81
๐Ÿ˜Those gorgeous flowers you sowed I'm sure the wildlife would thank you if they could ๐Ÿ๐Ÿฆ‹๐ŸžSo pretty I do miss having a garden Stuck up here in the clouds but there is a comunal garden ๐ŸŒบ๐Ÿฅฐ
@AC73LoveCats KPF is an abbreviation of kangaroo paw fern. A "chav" is a UK slang term for a crass young person (similar to the term "white trash"). I've heard it used here in Canada as well so my guess is that other English-speaking Commonwealth countries picked up on its usage.
Thank you for the explanations, Geraldine. I am always interested in words and meanings.
@ballondusoleil Thanks once again, Geraldine! @AC73LoveCats I get an education too as I had people confused when I used to say WA (Western Australia). Its great to learn new things ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ‘
@Seymour sometimes I have to clarify my use of PNW (Pacific Northwest) when mentioning where I'm located - it technically includes the west coast of Canada but people assume the US ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿพโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ˜
