Repotting my kowhai in a ground pot

Change pot for the little baby shrublet that keeps on getting bushier. Love the Ground Pot by YAMATSU (japan). #PLANTMAFIA #PlantPots #Plantfie #HappyPlants
2ft to light, indirect
4” pot with drainage
Last watered 1 year ago
when i see your posts one half of me is excited to see the cool unusual plants, and the other half of me is super done with myself for putting yet another species on my wishlist
It definitely is a lovely planter, sometimes I worry that my aesthetic sense might endanger the occupant’s growth potential. Loving roughed up terracotta that can literally suck up a ton of moisture before the plant can transpire to it’s fullest.
@voidnuggets never do that, I enjoy the diversity of my cohabitation greenies, though it’s possible they might not enjoy the same environments. So far I suspect they talk to each other and thus grow together much as we do as a community.
@JuJuBeans really depends on the goal. Personally i want my plants in small pots and i try to make them small especially I’m an apartment dwellerπŸ˜… and i want my place not to look like a forestπŸ˜€
@cjred that’s the beauty of diversity, I prefer the network of the forest, plus a lot of my plants foliage only takes on it’s dramatic potential when it gets larger, Anturiums come to Mind, a lot actually as they are one of my obsessive’s.
@JuJuBeans yap when my anthurium crystallinum grow big mad leaves i always chop the chonk and restart and propagate then give some to my peers
@cjred putting my toe in the crying game, ordered a Waroqueanum,
@JuJuBeans haha wow goodluck! Those long large leaves are lovely!
@cjred I have a strict no pix until it’s ready rule after losing a couple fussy lovelies.
@cjred I love the new pot makes the plant 🌱 stand out. Beautiful 😍
@KikisOasis thanks πŸ™πŸΌ
@JuJuBeans yeah that’s why i can’t have a begonia πŸ₯² i really want one but the humidity in my room is about average and i don’t want to mist bc i have succulents that live here with me
@JuJuBeans my wishlist isn’t a definite thing, i think i forgot to explain sorry! it’s more of a β€˜cool plants I want to look into’ list. i’ll only select a few that i like the most and are suited to my house. it also doubles as a memory thing bc i forget scientific names very easily
@voidnuggets me too someone gave me a begonia cutting and it was like suicidal. Sometimes the plant’s just not into it’s new situation.
@voidnuggets oh no mine’s very definite, Dark Lord Philodendron, Red Congo, Green.Mermaid Sansevieria, Homolomena Pig Skin Black, Syngonium Wenlandi, and the list goes on and on I’m doomed!!!
@JuJuBeans oh man xD i also had a philodendron on my wishlist, mexicanum (striked this one off tho since it’s a little too cold for them where i live). are you going to order your plants online? bc those seem really rare and i’ve never seen one irl in any nursery! maybe your country has them more readily available lol
@voidnuggets I try to get one per month, and if it’s successful. I move on to the next. I live near Florida so there are numerous greenhouses there that have most of them.
@voidnuggets you can! I’ll recommend you a japanese brand called β€œdooa” you can plant them in a tank to provide humidity and of your weather is cold…. Yes heat mat.
@cjred oh those look so cool!!! and stylish too, so i don’t have to sacrifice my room’s looks xD i’m gonna be getting a heat mat today from the pet store :)
