Today is a sad day :( I got insanely sick for a few days and couldn’t even move so couldn’t do anything about my pest and fungus problem, and I came out yesterday to see Oli my begonia was INFESTED in spider mites, her leaves were disentergrating from the neem oil treatment, there was no saving her unfortunately :( so I did the hardest thing, many tears were shed. The first plant I’ve had to chop completely down to start again. πŸ₯² I also had to chop 3/4 leaves left on the cathelea, they are getting a repot out of the old soil and now going into isolation together in the greenhouse away from the other plants that have pests but can be saved! Please tell me I did the right thing? Because it feels so wrong right now 😭 #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #PlantTherapy #PetsAndPlants #PlantCorner #PestControl #OutdoorGrowing #PlantLove #PlantShelfie

That’s all you could do. You and your health are top priority. It’ll bounce back and be bigger and stronger. You definitely did the right thing. πŸ’š
@Azplantchic Thank you for your kind words, it means a lot because I have been so emotional over it today! πŸ˜… I’m glad I did it all okay and she should grow back 🀞🀞
I feel you! My Ti Plant still has spider mites, and they won't go away! I have sprayed them with neem oil and insectidal soap, and they still don't tolerate being evicted from their "home." I even spray the soil with it!
@Catplantaddict I have been doing the same, it seems they’re immune 😭 it’s been the biggest headache I swear! been fighting them w neem oil for 4 weeks straight as my mother bought some plants from her place over and it was infested, I was so upset hahha it’s been a nightmare, currently have 20 plants in isolation (((:::::: I’ve now started a treatment plan of neem oil, Yates insecticide , copper fungicide (also has disease yay) and adding some bug killa systemic option into the soil, i really wanted to intoduce ladybugs but now is just not the time, I’ll ween them of systemic before starting to even think about that haha but they need a couple of treatments at the very least.
I’m so sorry! It looks like you are doing everything you can. Maybe your plants sensed your suffering and felt vulnerable on your behalf. I’m sure they will come back. It sounds like you know what you are doing. I feel your pain. My precious Solei is being destroyed by root rot and I’m so sad. Nothing I’m doing is working, and I fear she is dying. I did save one of her leaves which is growing some healthy roots, but I am heartbroken about losing her. She has been my pride and joy the short time I’ve had her. I beg her to live on a daily basis, but her main leaf is showing signs the infection has spread. Hoping for the best outcome for you and your green babies 🌱πŸ₯°πŸŒ±
I'm sorry. Get well soon.
@teacher12 I completely understand, after I made this post I went to repot my cathalea baby that I have been FIGHTING to keep alive, but discovered she had terrible rot from the main stem and was dying, I managed to save a leaf with a few little roots and popped her in a prop glass, so fingers crossed she will pull through :( I have never cried so much over plabts before πŸ˜‚ I think my hobby has become an obsession at this point oopsies πŸ₯ΊπŸ’• I hope your baby pulls through lovely! It’s such a hard time but I’m so glad I have the beautiful people on here who understand my emotions πŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’•
@MusicalRedmint I appreciate it so much! Feeling a lot better today β˜€οΈπŸŒΏ
