Iβm looking for some advice about my Echeveria 'Perle von Nurnberg'. This attached picture is what he looked like when I got him and he stayed in that pot until I thought he was getting too big for it. Come to find out, he was in REGULAR DIRT π± I realized his soil was SO SATURATED from all the watering and no drainage (rookie mistake). So I put him in dry soil but didnβt have any succulent soil. Now, a few weeks later, Iβve put him in succulent soil in a bigger potter that has a drainage hole. But his leaves just donβt look like they used to π« Iβm a newbie and am looking for advice. Did I do the right thing? Is this a normal color for him to be? Do I need to start planning a plant funeral? Help!!!
2ft to light, direct
4β pot with drainage

Iβd check to see if any of the bottom leaves are rotting or are dying off and remove those. I adopted a PVN that was in rough shape when I got her. I basically let time do the healing, you can check my profile and see the middle growth looks way better than the older leaves it came with. I find these guys really like good light and a gritty soil. Once itβs got enough new healthy growth you can chop and prop :)

Just answering your question on color, it depends on lighting! PvN range from green in low light to purple/pink in high light. For reference, hereβs three pics of mine, from the day I got it (was mostly green) to present (very purple), with a transition pic showing the mottled color it takes on in between. The updated pic for yours is well on the green side, a grow light would help it develop the purple/pink PvNs are known for, if thatβs what youβd like!
