This variegated red congo has come a long way from when I first got it (last pic) #HappyPlants #Philodendron
@PlantJedi @GaryPoopins wow 🀯 stunning. I’ll take two but on a serious note your collection is absolutely gorgeous. I’ve never even seen red Congo in person but I know I want one now
@PlantJedi holy cow!!! This is amazing!! @GaryPoopins
@elisenavidad @PlantJedi @PoisedAlbo y’all are too kind πŸ˜€ I adore how this one has matured
@GaryPoopins yes, it’s absolutely stunning! Great job, dude!
@GaryPoopins teach me your ways 😁
@GaryPoopins as always, well done. You definitely have a way with philos. They *flourish* in your care! @PlantJedi @elisenavidad @PoisedAlbo you guys do too. I got ONE philo and it’s now in ICU because I cannot seem to keep them alive
@TheOddAsity Thank you! I just try to get out of my own way and hope for the best, really.
@GaryPoopins How does it not fall over? The pot is small for the plant's height and fullness (I don't mean the pot is too small for your plant's roots).
@UltraKoreanfir fair question. Not really sure πŸ˜†

The plant is 3’ tall and 3’ across, so it distributes the weight well, but I did have to stake the base a ways back once it got to a certain height - I was afraid it was going to snap itself clean at the base. If you look closely you can see bamboo stakes placed around the base to keep it stable, but it is due a repot… I just never want to when the weekend gets here πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ
@GaryPoopins I saw the sticks, but honestly just didn't think they would be enough.

I am totally with you on not feeling like repotting once the weekend arrives! 😬
@UltraKoreanfir the thing is, I need to go down to Lowe’s to get an angle grinder so I can just cut off the pot without messing with the plant. Mine was borrowed and not returned, but it’s so nice to just effortlessly zip a cut around the entire base, then two up the sides and I can peel it right off without stressing the plant out and drop it right into its new home.
