Not Plant related but our little friend came out to visit! 👀 This means the excess rain washed away the sulfur treatment. Time to do it again! #CarolinesWinterGarden #AnthuriumQueen #SanAntonioGregGang
Gaaaaah I would have ran away screaming like a crazy lady 🤣
Wow!! What’s sulfur treatment?? Ps I’m still in school but never herd of it
@EnergeticCosmo Sulfur deters snakes. Seeing this beauty, I have to treat other areas with pelletized sulfur to create an area it will want to stay away from. It smells awful but it helps keep the snakes away from the house. We live in the woods and they come out when the sulfur is low. We start along the perimeter of the house and wait a few days to give them a chance to move elsewhere. Then we finish by spreading it along our property: From the foundation out to create a natural barrier they don’t want to cross. We don’t like hurting these creatures however, there are times we are forced to make a decision that hurts not just them but us as well.
@KDkat3 I’m not gonna lie: I stopped in my tracks until I could see what kind it was. Then I was like, “Oh, girl, you good!” I ran to get my phone and captured a video for fun. We get rattlers too but the sulfur helps keep all snakes away.
Oh , thanks. I feel bad for the snakes 🐍
So pretty 😍
May have to try sulfur because we get to many copperheads around our house. Do you use anything in particular?
Snake!!!!!!!
I am glad you are finding non harmful ways to deter snakes. We don’t have too many venomous snakes in MO but a lot of people would rather kill first then check to see if they are beneficial. 🥰
Not today, not ever!
🏃🏿‍♀️🏃🏿‍♀️🏃🏿‍♀️💨
@KDkat3 🏃🏿‍♀️🏃🏿‍♀️🏃🏿‍♀️ right behind you girlfriend!
Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaa yeah, my heart stopped just looking at this picture. No ma’am.
@AnthuriumQueen thank you 💕
@PlantznBirdz I’m used to these. We’ve had these around since we built our house. I’d rather move them than just kill without thought.
@AwesomePlants 🤣🤣🤣
Omg 😳
@AnthuriumQueen is the sulfur okay for pets ? Asking for myself
Yay! That is such a cool photo. I love snakes most of the time. I’m assuming that the sulfur just smells horrible and deters them without hurting them. Thanks for teaching me! 🌱☀️❤️
What a cute snake 🐍🩷🌿☺️, thanks for sharing 😘
😳😳
@AnthuriumQueen Little friend?! 😳😳😩😖 no ma’am, no ham, no turkey! Can’t do it! 🫥 🙅🏾‍♂️🙅🏾‍♂️😂
@Herbalgreen25 I have three pups. I use a whirly gif spreader to distribute it. Then I water it in. My pups have never had an issue. They don’t eat it because it stinks like rotten eggs.
You just have to release a bunch of much larger snakes like some anaconda’s to eat that snake 🐍 and then crocs or alligators 🐊 to eat the bigger snakes and then work up to tigers or some larger predators to eat those. That will fix the issue. 🤣 I can at least send some kittens right now in the meantime. They’re like tiny tigers 🐅 so it’s close enough. 😂 They would probably freak out seeing a snake for the first time.
@RealSimpleMama that’s exactly it.
@Keyandre87 🤣🤣🤣
That sulfur is a great idea. I didn’t know about that deterrent. I’ve only mainly used sulfur for treating pests on plants like cactus rust .
@SirLiquorice my neighbor has a Komodo dragon. Maybe she can bring it over. 🤣
@AnthuriumQueen 😮 oh daammmmmnnnnn just like the movie. I remember when he was trying to buckle the dragon in. Putting the seatbelt under his lizard armpit. 😂. Kinda want to watch that movie now.
@AnthuriumQueen thank you queen!
@Herbalgreen25 You’re welcome, Queen!
@SirLiquorice ASSERT DOMINANCE!!!
@Keyandre87 that plant now belongs to the snake! 🤣
@LuxuryMint yes, it was definitely a beauty. 😁
@AwesomePlants I think it was definitely making that statement! When I went out to the porch to get a package, I looked to make sure it wasn’t there and I made it feel threatened. I don’t want that. I never want that! 😅 Now, I have it set in mind that that plant is where it will always be! 🤣🤣🤣
Yikes 😳 those critters are something I simply do not 🚭🚫 deal with. If you ever see anyone walk on air and is gone, that's me 🏃🏃
@Sassylimey 🤣🤣🤣
Caroline, lookie what was stealing bird seed and digging up my plants outside.. Ha ha no more critter 🤣😂
@Sassylimey Aw, they just want to eat like all other animals. I know they make a mess and destroy things… yet, they don’t value things the way we do. I’ve been feeding the deer fruit and vegetables from the kitchen that I know is at a point where DH won’t eat it which is still edible but he’s super fussy about texture. I cut it up or peel it (oranges) and toss it out in the sand spit in our yard near the driveway for all animals to eat. I even put out a one gallon bucket of water for them during the spring and summer in the evenings so they can stay hydrated. I kinda feel bad about the sulfur treatment I’m putting out today but it’s necessary. I cant risk any of us being attacked because the snake felt threatened so I totally get why you’re trapping! We’ve had to do it too and it never really feels good.
@AnthuriumQueen I know, I hate trapping them, they're so darn cute but oh so destructive, especially when they get up under the homes here, they do all kinds of damage. It will be released in the woods where it belongs 🤣
I'm one of the weird ones and I find snakes beautiful granted I don't know if I would ever own one but I do know people that have owned them and I love to play with them but I have also been bit by snakes but that is such a cool picture how he's all up inside your cage what is that for like tomatoes but that is an awesome picture and glad it wasn't a rattlesnake
@Sassylimey omg your right they are so darn Cute I have one that actually comes up and eats bird seed off of my second story apartment he climbs the balconies and comes up and gets into the bird seed I used to keep it outside until I went out one night to you can believe it repot a plan about 9:30 at night and he was he was sitting there at the porch just kind of like shocked that I come walking out there I barged right out there cuz I didn't know they were up here I mean I know they're done at my mom's but she's got woods against her apartment but up here I'm literally just like there's no trees around my apartment so I thought oh I should be fine I was wrong haha but yes they are cute but very destructive very very destructive he has broken like six pots on my back porch because of trying to climb around and looking for things
@AwesomePlants the entire yard belongs to that damn snake! Lol I just can’t 😩😩😩😩😩
@BuoyantSandleek It’s a cage i put around my plants so the deer won’t take off with them. We don’t want a fence up front so cages it is! 🤣
Ah that's a smart idea I agree with no fence in the front yard it seems so unwelcoming when people come over our drive by they're like well that person doesn't want us around I mean I used to clean multimillion dollar homes in Williamsburg and I never liked the looks of a house with a fence in the front yard either I mean unless it was one of those cute little wood ones that they have all over colonial Williamsburg those ones look okay but I never liked the traditional like brick one said a lot of them had are none of them had like the the chain link ones cuz you know it was colonial Williamsburg but I I don't like offense in the front yard One day when I have a yard I definitely will not put a fence in the front but I do plan on having one in the backyard just because I want a huge garden I would love a huge garden I'm a vegetarian so I would love to be able to grow in my own food I'm not even allowed to grow food on my balcony only allowed to have plants out there but nothing that you can eat so I do have lettuce but it's like turns brown and reddish colors so I'm going to tell them if they ask me it's ornamental lettuce but I do plan on eating it I love lettuce
