Got some little #wishlistplant from #plantproper! I had to take advantage of that Labor Day sale! Got a Philo Ring of Fire, a Paraiso Verde, a gorgeous Hoya Burtoniae, and a variegated Syngonium ๐ all for less than $35! And since #BennyTheTreeFrog is asleep right now, here is his friend #BonnieTheTreeFrog who I discovered this week lives in the begonias on my deck! She also has a tiny baby that is smaller than a US quarter (I canโt think of anything universally descriptive because Iโm still half asleep). I will post baby frog pics in the comments ๐ธ Anyway so excited to get these beauties for such a steal! @PoisedAlbo seriously! I got one of the โNotched and Blotchedโ Philo Ring of Fire, they are cheaper because of โlight defectsโ but I donโt see a single thing wrong with this one! And the Albo syngonium has been a wish for so long, I felt so lucky to get it so cheap! Iโm in love with all of them. ๐ you said you want another frog; do you have one already? Iโd love pics! I love all little creatures
Oh and if anyone is wondering if Iโm insane, the answer is emphatically yesโI just got this adorable pool specifically for the frogs to enjoy! ๐ they loved their previous pool which was a concrete bowl. But it wasnโt big enough for both of them. So now the whole family can enjoy a swim ๐คฃ๐ธ
@PoisedAlbo oh no! I do remember that now that you say it. Iโm so sorry ๐ข I had an albino frog in my early 20s and it lived for several years but one day I came home and found it floating. Im so sorry, we get so attached to our pets. For me itโs harder to lose a pet than a person most of the time. These frogs are wild but they come to live on my deck every summer! So I consider them free range pets lol. Last year I had to encourage them to hibernate because they did not want to leave. They were right back in the spring. Love it โฅ๏ธ
@HisLobster I swear like a sailor in real life, so no worries! Lol. Not a Jerry Springer amount, but itโs peppered throughout my speech to emphasize points or for comedic effect lol. And yes I got SO lucky! 20% off sale and I had a little bit left on a gift card lol. The frogs are the best and I canโt wait until they use their new pool so I can take pictures ๐

Sadly, I cannot encourage frogs to stay. I have to rescue them all of the time from the dogs' pool, and if they're anywhere accessible the dogs will try to eat them. ๐คข

@UltraKoreanfir oh no! Our youngest dog tries to catch them, but he is unbelievably clumsy so Iโm not worried about it haha. The others are indifferent. Itโs so good of you to rescue them from the pool! โฅ๏ธ
@BabeVila what a fabulous lot of plants. And big ones at that! Iโm just stumbling onto this group now. I think โPhiloโs & especially ring of firesโ were the Labor Day plant. I have a few Labor Day sales plants coming. It will have to be my last plant haul before the cold hits.๏ฟผHappy growing.
@Arid_oasis they are gray tree frogsโthey look bigger in the photos than they really are. Benny is about the size of a walnut and Bonnie is a little bit bigger, perhaps the size of a small chicken egg
