Are Thanksgiving cactus and false Christmas cactus the same thing or 2 different types?
I just got it today and repotted it. Is it ok that it's drooping?
Is the care the same as Easter cactus? (Ok in low light and frequent waterings, is that correct?)

@kimbiechele so for the Easter cactus, I've been watering it every 10-14 days. Is that too often?
@NotableKonjac it depends on the environment, especially this time of year. Your heat being on can play a big part in the dryness of the soil, but if your Easter cactus is doing fine, I wouldn't change anything. My experience is that Thanksgiving cactus can be finicky until you find the right spot.
@NotableKonjac I have a water tester, I use because they donโt like to be to wet
First off, you have a Thanksgiving cactus. I say that because of the point tipped leaf shape. But that doesn't matter because care for them is the same. The only real difference with each type is when they bloom, hence their names. Now speaking of your plant dropping. That's common for these cacti to begin to droop as leaves grow in a line and then heavy flowers grow off the end leaf. As a matter of fact, all of my Thanksgiving cacti droop now because of how big they've grown and how many flowers bloom each growing season. Here's a pic of two of my the babies to show you how pretty they can be when they droop.
@Sapientlace6699 thx. Yea I bought it thinking it was a thanksgiving cactus but then the app identified it as a false Christmas cactus. I did some googling and it looks like they're the same thing???
So mine looks normal despite the drooping?

@Sapientlace6699 can the blooms get wet? I always wash and repot new plants but I just noticed that the blooms are not looking so good. I'm not sure if it's because of the washing?
@Hi
I'm not sure. I've never gotten the flowers of my plants wet, but I would think that it could make the blooms wilt. Basically it may age them, but the flowers only last a couple days anyway so it now than likely didn't harm the plant. Do you have other flower buds forming still?

1) They're the same.
2) These guys are super sensitive when they're blooming, so expect them to drop their flowers after a repot. The best time to do this is after they're done blooming.
3) More or less. Both species like bright, indirect light. Watering is a little trickier; I've found my Easter cacti like a little more water than the Thanksgiving cacti. Their stems are thinner and dry out faster.
