Everyone please look at these tiny little 1β terracotta pots I got on Amazon to get my succ babies started. Theyβre so cute and Iβm in love. I have twice this many ready to prop more but Iβll leave the mother plant alone for now π
As soon as theyβre a little bigger, Iβll move them into a bigger container together, but Iβve had another tiny plastic pot for a while (pictured with a couple of the babies that I started in it) that seems to really help them take off in the early stages! #SucculentSquad #HappyPlants #PropagationStation
Ps. Yes, those are pill bottle lids π
Pps. Iβve got them directly under an 18 hour grow light now to get some color into them, theyβre supposed to be pink :β)

I love the pill bottle lids idea!
I do the same π every yogurt pot, alcohol miniature (for propagating little skinny props like Tradescantia) and lids from Pret salads and sauce containers... They all get kept because they're way too useful to throw out!! Haha of my stop yaya are either thrifted plates or old plastic lids/ pots π€£
And I totally agree about the cute pots!! I have some saved on my Amazon wishlist but don't have many succulents and all my tropicals are too big π the. It terracottas just aren't as cute! (Though there are some lovely painted ones on Amazonamaxon at the moment... Like a darkish teal colour, mat painted. My colorful kids would look really classy in those!! π) Xx

@JenniB81 Iβm a thrift store shopper always looking for plant things too! I just got 24+ different size terracotta pots & hydro dipped them for some color, I also have hand painted a couple. Pots really make a plant stand out!
Those are lovely Monica! @artistic_stoner) π₯° I just got given a bunch of hand thrown terracotta pots today for some of my bigger babies (along with two good sized BoPs and a std Schefflera). They're really lovely... And being a tropical plant addict, terracotta is where it's AT! lol π€£π€£ xx
@JenniB81 thank you π₯° oh thatβs awesome, especially cause they were free! Sooo on the same level with terracotta.. keeps me from killing my succulents π₯² I freaking swear by them!
@Artistic_Stoner oh my gosh I LOVE those pots!!! You did such a great job on them!! Iβm not very artistic, but I think youβre inspiring me to give it a go anyways!!
@JenniB81 the top of my fridge is absolutely stockpiled with plastic containers and lids ππ most of my plants are in large yogurt containers slid into decorative pots of some sort. I also really like the square-shaped Publix dip containers, Iβve got a baby monstera in one and some succulents in another!
The great thing about succulent propping is you just need one big one to create a tiny army π not to be the devil on your shoulder or anything, but you should totally get the tiny terracotta pots ππ

@BasementForest Thank you so much!! Besides the ones I hand painted, super easy to hydro dip & doesnβt take skill to do it.. A 5 gallon bucket filled with water, spray paint & viola !
@BasementForest oh go on then... π€£π€£ I'm endlessly propping my tropicals... & a few of my succs, but then I only keep a few! π I had 15 fan aloe pups at one point - trying DESPERATELY not to kill them all π«£π I'm not kidding my flat is in the "golden zone" for tropicals, a constant 60-80% humidity lol so succs don't get on that great with me! π’π - and managed to phone all but two babies & my big mama! It's a good job they went out with they did because I discovered a bloody thrip invasion (imagine having to treat succulents for THRIPS! π€¦ββοΈπ± having to constantly do use all the leaves, leave them ten mins then carefully dry them so they don't rot... Yikes! π
My tropical props love terracotta too though π₯° and those I do tend to have dozens of at any one time! Lol π one of my local plant shops rens a bi-monthly plant swap which is AMAZING! π A load of my started came from there. Gotta love #freeplants! Lol x

@Artistic_Stoner definitely gonna have to give that a try, thank you!
@JenniB81 these are great!! And the plant swap sounds awesome! Iβm definitely planning on giving these succulents away when they get bigger (so that I can make more, obviously)
@JenniB81 love those, they are beautifully done!
@BasementForest post them if ya do π€
