Just your friendly reminder that if you bought it at a big box store (Home Depot, Lowe’s, BJ’s, Costco, Walmart) or grocery store, that it is 100% guaranteed in a pot that is too big and soil that is way too spongy. ALWAYS #RepotSeason with these guys! She was in a 6” and I took her down to a 4” which was only a little bigger than the root ball. #DiffenbachiaBatch #HappyPlants

@LauraLynne not the kind of 100% guarantee that you want with a plant 🀨
Isn't that the truth. Lol πŸ˜†
I’m so glad I’ve found this. I got mine 1 1/2 months ago. I’ve let her acclimate to my house and in quarantine of course. She was so neglected. Now is time to upgrade the soil and i didn’t know if Dieffenbachias liked to be crowded or not. Thank you πŸ™‚
@FinePanamatree A good rule of thumb is the pot should always be only 1-2” bigger than the root ball no matter the type of plant. The big box stores want to be watering their stock once every few weeks so they purposefully pot them in big pots and super absorbent soil. Once they go home with you though, you’re going to overwater if you don’t repot. You’ll notice private nurseries most of their plants are in 4” pots or smaller and everything in big box stores is in 6” pots or bigger across the board. Happy growing!
