Hello #TheWateringHole planty friends 🌿 Thursday and a late post from me, but I was running around all morning getting things ready for my kiddo’s bday party this weekend. How’s everyone doing? I just want to sleep.
I was trying to put off repotting my ctenanthe but I’m watering this beast every 4 days, and that’s ridiculous! He’s just been growing so fast. So I gave him a bigger home with a really good substrate that has mycorrhizae fungi. Excited to see how he responds to it!!
Anything to report in your planty worlds? Or pet worlds? Here’s my big 17lb galoof Emerson Tater Sauce a couple days in a row. Had to turn up the exposure since he’s such a fancy tuxedo. Show me your cuties!! 🐾

I love tuxie kitties! My daughter has one with cerebellar hypoplasia- she’s a wobble kitty! Just the cutest thing with SUCH tuxie-‘tude! I had a beautiful hospice nursing day- started with singing Christmas carols with one patient and ended the day tearing up while an old man with a cracking voice sang “que sera sera” to me from his bed. 😭I am loving hospice- it’s so much more patient centered than the craziness that is my other acute care bedside job!

I've been meaning to do an appreciation post for my African Milk Tree (his name is Whacky Waving Inflatable Arm Flailing Tube Man) and all the new growth popping up ALL OVER. I'm seeing at least 2 branches and leaves in pretty much every.... that space between the spines lol. I'm really thrilled, it was super spindly and the arms were flopped over, earning the name, but it got a lot stronger and thicker over the summer and is now just happier than a pig in a well maintained and sanitary pen ;p
@DreamMachine I do have some plants that are in desperate need of a repot🙈 My spiderplants are literally growing out of their pots, and so is a few of my calatheas. I don't have time and energy for this just right before Christmas!🎄 (If I know myself right, I will do the repots when some other chore, like wrapping presents, are most urgent, #adhdplantlovers can never do what is planned or most important at the moment...).

@DreamMachine I have a sorta tuxedo dog - Bob Barker is his government name. The chihuahua is Buddy - he’s 15yrs old and he does not care. 😂. My fishy is a Plakat Betta. He’s a baby. He is nameless at the moment. ❤️. Beautiful plant and kitty. I lost my last cat to heart failure at 4 and I haven’t been able to get another one yet. Eventually I will. They are a different kind of companion that dogs just can’t replace. Thanks for sharing!

Hello 👋 #TheWateringHole people! It has been a long, busy week at work, so there has been plant neglect going on. Managed to get a few of my little 2 inch pots watered this AM before heading to work. Snapped a couple of pics of my Thanksgiving cactus blooms this morning. @DreamMachine I have some repotting to do, but like you, I’ll probably do it when there is something else I should be doing. I am an over achiever when it comes to procrastination!
@Dawgfreak I’m so sorry to hear about your poor kitty. 4 is way too little for that 🥺 I’ve had a couple kitties die that age too, when I was a young girl, really tears your heart out 😭

GM to all at #TheWateringHole ☀️!! Busy day yesterday tidying up a lot of things around the 🏡. I had piles of things around that needed to go somewhere else but I too am a ⭐️ at procrastinating! Plus laundry 🧺 plus 🪴 🪴 that needed attention. Almost forgot to plant my final amaryllis 😬, it was in the garage, out of sight out of mind 🤷♀️. Did get a chance between manicure 💅 and fixing dinner 🍽️ to snap a few pics of these little cuties! First time lithops owner and I didn’t know they have such cutie patootie flowers 🌼!!!!! Bonus pics my sweet Pearl 🐕. And the grandpups 🤎💛🖤🤍❤️

It makes me think of the Frosty tv show at Christmas time when they want to name the snowman ⛄️ and the little girl suggests Oatmeal! 🥣🥹🥰

@DreamMachine lol beginners luck 🍀. Never had lithops. Bought 2 to put in a new pot but the pot’s too shallow 🙄 So I just left them as is and put out on my patio 🤷♀️

When I got a companion chick so the other wouldn't be totally isolated and sad all the time we tried again. Her name is Fahst.
To be fair, I named the third (rescued and rehabilitated) chicken Beeps. Because, well, she makes little beep noises when she's happy. Baebi the silkie, Fahst the Generic Chicken (she's really not, she's the most beautiful bird I've ever seen lol) and Beeps the americauna. The little girls aren't laying let, they're about 4 months old now, but Beeps gives us an egg a day now that she's laying again. She'd stopped when she almost died, reasonably, so I'm especially happy to see her thriving again. She does have to wear a boot because her foot was horribly mashed at some point and curled in to where she was walking directly on her ankle bone. Well, hobbling, but yeah. So if anyone ever needs a blueprint for animal leg or foot braces, hmu 🤙 😂 The picture of Scrungle chicken is 4 days after I got her and she'd stopped actively dying. She is now full and fluffy again.

@DreamMachine @MariansOasis the first picture is called a graham's nipple, second one is a hanka ping (carnivorous plant)fourth cactus is a fire barrel and fifth is an elephant tooth. And these are just going by what my other plant app tells me. Freya really is such a beautiful spoiled mega floof void i don't reallyuse reddit for much. I have other pictures where you can hardly even tell where she is. This is our other cat called azazel.

@DreamMachine lol she was modeling a necklace i bought for my sister. And yes pinguiculas are so beautiful they come in A variety colour's and leaf shapes. At some point I will be getting a cycloceta ping which is a light purple.

@captainstardust I usually use “something Bliss?” I have to go look at my bag. But this mycorrhizae fungi in particular was from a bag of “V’s Mix,” from Oh Happy Plants.
