Wow! ðŸĪĐ Those are looking 👀 good!
I’m planning on getting plant Venus flaytraps but I first want to know proper way to take care of them do they need to be watered every week do I need to repot them when they bigger what do I do if one starts dying how can I prevent that from happening it just so many questions I have for them. ïŋžïŋž
@Yarid.M.C Hi Yarid! Venus Fly Traps (VFT) need bright light and to be kept damp with either distilled water or rainwater - they naturally grow in wet conditions with low/no nutrients since they've evolved to catch their own food. Feeding it bugs regularly isn't necessary for it to grow though - I give mine the occasional pest I find indoors which is rare.

Mine is in a deep pot (FYI use plastic or glass only - terracotta leaches minerals when wet which will create the wrong soil conditions for the plant) with drainage holes so it can sit in a small dish of distilled water. I top up the dish when the water is gone and try not to let it be empty for more than a day.

They can be kept indoors or outdoors depending on your local environment - they prefer bright light and can be acclimated to full sun (this can be a bit of work though) and should be brought indoors to avoid freezing conditions.

They can go into dormancy in fall/winter (even indoors - mine does!) and look like they're dead but just maintain their water and lighting and it should eventually start growing again in the spring.

Once you get a hang of their needs they become easier to care for. I've been learning about my VFT as it grows and it has survived two years with me so I think I'm finally getting a hang of it! Mine keeps dying back/going into dormancy in winter so I've not had to repot it yet but it seems it can be repotted when it gets too big for its pot, like other plants.

I find the plant stores don't stock them regularly so sometimes you have to wait to buy one and they can be pricey so if you can also wait for a sale I'd recommend it.

Best of luck! Lots of carnivorous plant lovers on Greg who are way more knowledgeable than me. This is just my experience so far and happy to share about it.
I want a carnivorous plant but EVERY VFT i ever had died!
I know a little more now..is a pitcher plant easier?
@Yarid.M.C go to California carnivores YouTube page. Great info there!
@DaringColtsfoot
VFT are easy actually
They just need 16 hrs of direct sun, distilled or rainwater bout 1/4 full in a tray sitting in water. Pitcher depends on the species... Intermediate in Highlands are usually easy to have in household humidity, as long as it's in front of a filtered, bright light. Lowlands, napenhees are a little bit harder to take care of because they need high humidity All the time.
