So I went from this to this in about a month or two I’m a first time plant mom so I wasn’t really sure on how to take care of it or from what I researched how dramatic Fiddleleaf plant is, but I’ve researched all over and over and I’ve tried to get it to stay alive and I’m not sure how to really honestly go about it cause someone please help me give me some tips on what I can do to possibly save this plant if able to at this time FYI, I mistakenly stripped a piece of the stem down as pictured in the photo. It did not just happen like that on purpose. #Fiddle leaf Fig

Do you know what this plant is so that we can give you information about it?
Fiddle leafs need a sunny spot. You need to put them by a window that gets good sunlight
FLF love a south or west facing window- that’s how much sun they prefer. If you don’t have that, a very strong grow light. Mine is facing directly west, about one foot from a sliding door, and has some exposure to a grow light from another plant.

They like to be watered with consistent amounts at consistent intervals. To learn mine, i waited until the soil was dry up to first two knuckles of my finger, and then I drizzled water in, around the plant, just until it started running out of the bottom. Let it sit for 20-30 min, and dump the excess water. So for my plant size and soil conditions, that’s about 4c water every ten days. I water it that amount on that schedule all the time now (i always check the soil moisture first just in case). I also have a humidifier pointed at it and regularly dust the leaves.

It’s possible your FLF will still recover and shoot out some new growth- I would probably unpot and check for root rot. If none, let it be, water a bit, and put it in a really sunny spot. Hopefully it will surprise you!

Here’s my girl, β€œHer Majesty,” who is…mostly worth the effort lol! You can go ahead and trim off that strip as well and just keep an eye out for pests.
