Amaryllis care experiment underway!
Tis' the season!
I decided to treat my #amaryllis right this year and keep them growing all summer. Normally I let things die back after a bloom then stick bulbs in the basement. While they grew back I was depriving them of the energy needed to flower again.
I just took them out of their pots, trimmed their leaves, and now I'll put them in the basement for 6-ish weeks. I tried to clean off some of the first but I didn't want to disturb the roots too much before dormancy. I'm hoping to finish removing the soil once it dries a little and then convert them to leca when I pull them back out (Google it, they look SO pretty).
Fingers crossed actually trying works as well or better than not trying 🤞🏼🤞🏼

Oh how gorgeous! I adore them and would have them all over my flowerbeds if they could tolerate it here. Can’t wait to see!
