@WickedValkyrie Iβm going to have to start eating Avocados π₯ again I want to try that π
@Ms.Persnickety this one was already sprouted when I cut into the avocado but so far this guy has been super easy going! And so pretty! I had no idea the babies come out maroon/burgundy! Kinda sad to watch it turn more green as it grows, but it's still super cool to see (:
@WickedValkyrie Is it true that avocado grown from seeds do not produce fruit? I seem to remember having read something like that I just canβt remember where??
@Ms.Persnickety I really don't know... π€· I only started this one cuz it was already sprouted so was like "Eh... Science. Why not?" ππ€· I do know that IF it does produce fruit it won't be for the next 10-15 years... Lol
@Ms.Persnickety they do grow fruit but itβs a crapshoot whether or not the fruit will taste good the odds are extremely low though, I forget the exact number. So once a seed begins to grow avocados are grafted so that they produce fruit that tastes good to us. Great video explaining this https://youtu.be/yWAR_DotvZs
@WickedValkyrie if you graft it it will happen much sooner than 15 years and the fruit will taste great too https://youtu.be/yWAR_DotvZs itβs not that hard you could definitely learn how to do it
@Cal3b Thanks for the link, that was very educational, and eventhough I eat neither Skittles, nor Carmels very easy to understand. π₯π₯
@Cal3b Fascinating!! I'm about to start a couple more (for science) so maybe I'll try it! This one is probably gonna end up as a bonsai tho cuz omg it's just so cute! ππ€
