I recently stumbled upon this philodendron at Home Depot and its now probably one of my favorite ones🤩 but im wondering if the white and the dots are normal? Variegated maybe? #HappyPlants #PlantAddict #RarePlants
I honestly have no clue, but it is beautiful!!❤️
I had to ask AI for an answer: "White spots on a philodendron can be a normal part of the plant's cycle, especially on variegated varieties like the White Princess, where the white parts can die off due to stress. However, they can also indicate a problem, such as pests like mealybugs (cottony masses) or spider mites (fine webbing), fungal issues like powdery mildew (powdery film), or mineral/salt buildup from hard water. To determine the cause, inspect the spots for texture and check for pests, then adjust care based on the diagnosis."
Wow so gorgeous! I would not have been able to pass that one by either.... Beautiful
Hey! Philodendrons can get spots, but it does look like the plant has a mild infection in it. I think Kira @Floristsdaisy steered you in the right direction. First, your philo is BEAUTIFUL 😻!! 🫶🏻 With that being said, once you transplant this plant, make sure to disregard as much of the old soil as possible in case it does have the infection you don’t want to risk further spreading. So two things, it seems fairly mild (the infection), so you can change the soil and start there. I’d recommend a good draining medium chunky perlite with some tree fern fiber and azomite, horticulture charcoal, orchid bark, and then water with a silica of your choice. That would just increase the overall health of your beautiful new baby! Congratulations, it’s absolutely stunning, please keep its progress posted 🫶🏻😉
No idea, it looks like it has a pattern, but could easily be a problem. If the spotted leaves don’t die or turn yellow after a while it is probably variegated or has a unique pattern. (Wouldn’t be it cool if it’s a new morph?!) Hoping its okay 🤞
