Goodbye Jynx, hello orchids
Haven’t been around much, hopefully that will change. Been really tough around here lately. Our beautiful cat Jynx was diagnosed only 10 days ago with a very aggressive, very rare cancer, sadly we had to say goodbye to her two days ago, she was only 8. 😢. So to distract me for a bit my family got me the Lego Orchid set, it was really fun! I’m currently waiting blooms on one of my phals and one of my cattleya orchids. #OrchidLovers #LegoBotanicals #PlantsMakePeopleHappy

I’m so sorry for your loss. Pets aren’t “just” pets. They are family and it’s never easy to lose them. I lost my cat to cancer a few years back and it was also very quick and I remember how heartbreaking it was/is. When it’s so quick like that, you don’t get time to process it or take it all in. It’s lovely that you are distracting yourself and looking after yourself and that your orchids are going to reward you with blooms soon too. Be gentle with yourself x
@MotherOfOrchids thank you, you’re so right I think what makes it so much more difficult is how quick it was, didn’t even have time to get our heads around it.
@Roserade I/we have had cats and recently a dog, all my life so have lost some, and totally understand. Upon loss of a beloved black cat Misty, a vet tech said something that has stayed with me. She saw me crying and said, “You’ll see her again. “ I said, “Do you think so?” She said, “Wouldn’t be heaven without ‘em!”
