My DIY plant cabinet has become a propagation station and rescue rehab center. I’m also experimenting with several different prop methods and am looking forward to seeing how things turn out (water, soil, sphagnum). So far just about everything I put in this cabinet has taken off 😍 A few days ago my toddler pulled that bulb up roots and all, so I planted it for him and it’s blooming! #StartThemYoung #PropagationStation #GrowLights #PlantCabinets #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #PlantShelfie #PlantCorner #NewGrowth #PropBox #MommaNature #GrowYourOwnWay #PlantCabinet
Wow!!
Your DIY cabinet is great, your plants are happy and the little grape hyacinth doesn't seem any worse for being pulled up, pretty bloom!!
@Sassylimey thank you! We actually didn’t plant the grape hyacinth so my husband has always just called them weeds and mowed over them, the horror 😫 my almost 2 year old brought it to me and said β€œoops” as if he didn’t intentionally pull it up. I’m considering pulling up the rest and planting them in my flower bed where they’ll be safe from at least the mower πŸ™ˆ
You have creative ideas.
@angelikam thank you!
This #Zebrina was from a rescue and the rest of the plant wasn’t salvageable (except the second little cutting in the background). Plants want to live! Look at those roots πŸ₯°
Beautiful cabinet 😍
Loved ur passion... Its a motivation for me...
That looks awesome
I love this.
I love this! It's so neat!
So jealous of the cabinet! My toddler loves indoor and outdoor plants, I would love a safe space for them on our living floor (there is a space in the basement, but who has time to go down there with a toddler and infant πŸ˜‚)
@PlantMompy I got the cabinet for super cheap from an estate sale and installed the lights myself! My toddler can see the plants but can’t reach them. If you have room check FB marketplace for china cabinets or curio cabinets. It was a fairly easy project!
Looks great!
How did you make it?! It looks so cool!
@GraceC I got an old cheap China cabinet from an estate sale and installed grow lights from Amazon. There are holes drilled in several places that you can’t see without looking for them to run the cords through to the back. On one side the back panel was loose so I just fed the cords through πŸ˜‚ The switch for the lights is just out of sight on the back so I can get to it easily. It was not very hard if you know how to use a drill! Between the cabinet and the lights, it was only about $100. The inside of my cabinet was about 47 inches and the lights are 24 inches each, so they couldn’t go directly in line with each other. It took maybe an hour start to finish. I’m really happy with how it turned out.
@MommaNature niceee! I’m gonna have to try it! It looks so fun!
@MommaNature our house has some really neat upper cabinets in the dining room, with outlets on the bottom and I've actually been toying with the idea of converting them πŸ€”
@PlantMompy DO IT!!! It has been amazing for my plants and my mental health having them in plain sight πŸ™Œ
