Happy Saturday! Sharing some lovelies including the philo I propped. She has a new leaf!!! I was so scared and sheβs showing up and showing off. π€©π₯° Have a great day everyone! #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #NewGrowth #PropagationStation #TheThread #brunchataudreys #GregGang

@MariansOasis Thank you! I chopped her below a node and put her in water with a little root powder. I have the water vase in a basket to protect the roots from too much sunlight. It did take a few weeks, but the leaves were healthy so I tried not to worry. The mother plant popped out a new leaf too so Iβd say itβs a success π€©
@teacher12 oooh that is success!π Mine are in vases with new leaves emerging so I think theyβre ok π π€·ββοΈ.
@MariansOasis Iβve had a Birkin rooting in water for MONTHSβ¦ only now starting to see some root growth. However I have had great success rooting many types of plants in coco husk chips! It still allows airflow while pretty much eliminating the risk of rot, since the chips dry quickly! I just water every time I notice they are dry and I get roots in weeks! Iβve resurrected so many plants this way, most recently this aglaonema βAqua Greenβ. It had root rot when I received it from the previous owner and I told her I would revive it for her. She was dubious, but the results speak for themselves π€ in the second photo, those were seriously just rootless, leafless stems when I started several weeks ago. Now I have a leaf coming on the left, and the right is showing some signs of getting ready to produce some growth. I would do the rest of my Birkin props like this, but they are very small so I want to keep an eye on them, you know? But I will transfer to this once I think theyβre ready ππΏ
@MariansOasis I was planning to unpot to do a root inspection this weekend anyway, Iβm so excited! And Iβm sorry for my zeal, I get overexcited sometimes π€
@BabeVila ooh! Iβm going to try that. I mix in the coco with my chunky soil, but Iβve never propped in it. Maybe I can try it out with some of my rehab plants. π
@BabeVila always get overexcited on Greg. We are here for it! Love the pics π
@BabeVila hi Shannon! Thanks so much for the feedback on birkin prop. I might have to try coco husk chipsπ. Iβve been working on an aglaonema too for several months. Mine was opposite though π€ͺ tons of roots and few leaves. It took months before new growth popped out. Patience is a virtue β°β±οΈβοΈβ³ π€ͺ
@BabeVila definitely stuff to get excited about!!!! Zeal away!!!! π€βΊοΈπ
