I'm having an off cant day and need to complain for a minute. See, I love plants but they're a racket and collectors only exacerbate the problem. I bought myself a little false Christmas cactus from Dollar General when they ended up with a handful of them for $6. I was perusing nursery sites where you can get the same sized plant for $40-50. Like. What?? And then you get into 'rare' plants that are only rare to be found at a reasonable price. Everyone has them for sale, but you will pay. Oh, will you pay. And the moral of the rant is, if there is a nice thing it will inevitably be made prohibitively expensive to make sure rich people can keep feeling superior. Anyway here's the cactus they forgot to mark up 1000%.

What a cutie! Two of my favorite plants are super simple grocery store finds: a pathos and a philodendron. They’ve brought me so much joy and so many propogations for like $7 each! I do say that most of the time, I try to buy from small, locally owned nurseries. They have a wealth of knowledge and I think it’s worth a little bit more to keep those folks in our community!
Help! My precious Thanksgiving cactus has started dropping her flower buds😢. I've given her the 12 hours of darkness each night for the past month and been judicious with watering her. Shes in an east- facing window getting several hours of filtered bright light/ day. Anything I can do to Dave her remaining buds? I bought her in full bloom last holiday season so this is my first independent effort to see her bloom
