My pothos has mealybugs apparently. Iβm a new plant mom, and HATE bugs, but I love my plants more π
Does anyone have any advice on getting rid of them and keeping them gone? Do I need to repot it? Do I spray it down? How do I do that without flooding the roots? Help!!!

Combating current pests:
Step 1:
BREATHE! π§πΏββοΈYou've got this!

Seriously, if you can submerge your plant in water so those buggers drown.
If you can't submerge, wash off leaves with warm soapy water using a soap like Dr. Bronners. My fav is the peppermint which is a natural repellent for some crawlers.
Then wipe down leaves and stems with rubbing alcohol (no more than 70%). Make sure you wipe down the underside of the leaves as well.
Spray with your choice of spray, also spraying the underside of leaves and the soil. Drench the plants in the spray till it's running off. May want to do this in a bathroom for less mess.
β‘οΈ I use Natria as it's gentle to use often.
**If you use neem oil, make sure you don't let light on the plant until it is completely dried, otherwise you'll damage leaves.
Keep these plants quarantined until you're sure you've ridded them of crawlers.
Repeat spraying as needed. If using neem, spray weekly; if using Natria, you can use more often.

Oof, yeah Iβd recommend a repot unfortunately. All new soil! Gotta rinse those roots! Right after you repot give it a good spray with insecticidal soap (or your preferred insecticide).
The first step is recommend though is going through the whole plant and squashing all the bugs you can find, as well as wiping away all the cotton bits. A q-tip dipped in rubbing alcohol/isopropyl will work wonders.
If you live in a place where systemic granules are available, those seem to be amazing for twarting future infestations

@Natabeth you got some stellar advice and links in @AwesomePlants comment. Donβt forget to isolate it from your other plants and check all the others as well as clean the plants home. π
