Afternoon Planty Peeps! π₯°
I just wanted to demonstrate the outstanding qualities of #PothosPower! π
Many of you will have heard the old legend about sticking a Pothos cutting in your prop jar to hasten the rooting of your other cuttings? Well, here it is demonstrated for you (in case you were in any doubt! π).
As you can see from the photos, my E. Aureum cutting's aerial roots have only JUST started to grow (the whiter coloured tip you can just see is new growth) but JUST LOOK at the roots on my baby rescue Monstera cutting!!! (I took in this rescue from a friend when she told me it wasn't doing well, and when I checked the roots... They were all done for π there wasn't a single unrotted root on her, poor baby! So, having just recently chopped my E. Aureum there was only one thing for me to do... Obviously! π€£).
These have been in the water together for just FOUR DAYS! ππππ Incredibly, the Monstera's new roots (which weren't even there before I put them in together!) have just taken off! Even though the Pothos/ Epipremnum has barely started to root.
So, if your propping in future just think how much faster it could happen with a little #PothosPower in the mix! πππ₯°πΏπ₯°ππ

@JenniB81 Hey Jenni, so am I right in understanding that the pothos releases rooting hormones into the water ?
I am very interested in this as I have a Golden Pothos that seems to always be wanting to put down roots and I feel like I need to put it to work and doing some good instead of trying to invade other pots !?! I feel like some experimenting coming on after reading your post ! Thanks for sharing πππ€π

That's what I've read honey! @seymour). For some reason Pothos/ Epipremnum (sorry, I'm anally retentive about these things π€£) produce an excess of hormones that are water soluble so when you add a cutting to your prop jars they naturally boost other plants rooting prowess π₯°π even above their own weirdly!!
I finally chopped my E. Aureum (after MUCH procrastination! Lol) and when I got this poorly bsby Monsty it just seemed the perfect opportunity for a bit of #FAAFO experimentation ππ and it's worked beautifully!! I couldn't BELIEVE the amount of root growth after just for days on the Monsty baby!! Xxx

Ooh show us pics in a week or so Michelle! @MightyAloLover) π I have confidence it'll work! I could not believe how fast the poor Monsty shot out roots!! Xx
@JenniB81 I definitely will! Iβve had this cutting for about a week and nothing is happening lol. Iβve been told they standleyana cuttings can take a long time to root, so π€ this helps speed him along!
