I rarely post pictures of my palms, just because I feel like everyone pretty much has a palm or something similar. These are ponytails; they summer outside in a semi-shaded porch area, then they overwinter in my plant room. But I started adding silica to the water, and I do believe they are LOVING IT 🥰 Which makes me so happy! @Jho @Idplantthat Beautiful!! I love those wild ponytail palms. 🤩 I’ve stayed pretty clear of them since one of our old kitties used to shred the one I had. Can’t remember which type 🤔 And while none of my cats now eat any of my indoor plants, I don’t want to risk it! I will gladly gaze upon Rachel’s ponytail palms and Josh, your fairy palm, if you should ever find one that fits the bill 😁
@DreamMachine 🫶🏻, I had a cat that did the same thing, but now it’s just Enya and the pups, which sometimes get into it, but they generally leave it alone unless I’ve been working on it. Then they think they should help give haircuts 💇♀️, which I had a cat named Ghost who literally would chew on your hair while you were sleeping. I woke up one morning with partial bangs… they were very uneven and only like a third of it was cut… 🤦♀️ I miss that girl. She and her brother would crack me up.
Okay, so I’ve got these ridiculous gardening shoes I got from Amazon for cheap. I got a few pairs just so when Siggy (one of my dogs) takes them and hides them, I can just put whatever ones on and go work on plants (I figure I’m not going out into the real world…). So I go out today to ship some plants to some Greg friends, and my mom who drove me, I’ve got terrible neuropathy all over my body, so I rarely drive anymore… anyway, she looks at me in the post office (mind you, I already look strange in my sweatpants and sweatshirt that are a lighter orange color…). And goes! Rachel! You are wearing two different shoes, and they are those weird-looking clown ones! 🤣🤣🤣 I just went, “Well, that just happened… maybe I should get coffee on the way home??”
@DreamMachine I’m glad I’m not alone. 🤣 I definitely think my mom was embarrassed. Like you, I’m a little clueless to how people perceive things. So I don’t really get as embarrassed as other people can. ( I don’t want to say other people do, I think it’s different for everyone.)
@Idplantthat it totally is, but I’ve always felt really grateful that that kind of stuff doesn’t bother me. Now if I were sweaty and uncomfortable that would be a different story! But two different colored shoes but the same kind of shoes? No problem! 👏🏼 😁
@DreamMachine ha haha I was thinking ahead… I know Siggy takes shoes… I know I wake to shoes in my bed a lot… 🤣 but that’s why you get the same thing in more than one color… ha ha if it doesn’t bother you, and no one really sees you, why does it matter…?? 🤣🤣
