Ah yes...thank goodness for plant therapy! πŸͺ΄
@CutePolypremum Very true, Joanie. Hope all is well for you and your plants in your world πŸ˜€πŸ‘πŸŒπŸ€πŸŒΏπŸŒ±
@Seymour
Hi Seymour!
It's morning πŸŒ„ here and I think maybe evening Down Under? Everything is going great and am more and more in love with my plants every day. I feel they give so much by even allowing me to care for them.
Since adding grow lights and switching to distilled water they have exploded!
I hope all is well with you also and I'm really happy to hear from you ☺️.
I love this idea @Seymour my plants have truly contributed to my mental health I’ve started bringing them to my classroom to bring that energy to my students as well. I’m hoping a propagation project will help with some of the conflict my class has been experiencing.
@Seymour @CutePolypremum @teacher12 Here are some of my favorites! I love this idea! Now I look for uplifting ones so I can share! #plantboosttuesday hey! @COPlantMom @Popcornjoness @Chevysgirl11 and all my #brunchataudreys friends. You should join!! II sure hope everyone has a wonderful, blessed #tuesdayboost !! πŸ¦‹πŸŒ»πŸœοΈπŸͺ΄πŸŒ΅πŸžπŸŒΈπŸ«ΆπŸ½
@CutePolypremum Hey Joanie, it was evening so you were quite right (12 hours +) so I can assure you tomorrow is a good day to look forward to! πŸ‘πŸ˜€
So glad you are a distilled water fan as I swear by it ! Well I have so many plants that require distilled water so that’s something. And grow lights, can never have too many of them as the more growlights, the more plants ! (Just like shelves !!!)
I saw some lovely orchids and other plants today but I am also enjoying my own plants flowering for the spring. Nice to hear from you too, please share some more of your plants at some stage so I can enjoy them !
@teacher12 Thanks Laura, that’s such a nice comment to add. And love what you are doing with your students. I know some other teachers on Greg and plants can play a great role in the classroom (I am bias when it comes say get the class some carnivorous plants, kids are fascinated by them πŸ€”πŸ˜―) But keep us posted on the propagation project.
I do love Robert Browning, amongst others.
Not sure of your class ages but here’s some poetry to go with the plants
@SuperblyLilac Thanks CarmiB, I love your contribution to this post and your contribution to Greg app generally. Love Oh Fern Goodness Sake as I did a whole post once on fern puns πŸ˜‚πŸ˜€πŸ‘πŸ™
@Seymour I just saw it! I went back and looked at past posts. I saved so many! I’ll use them for my journaling! πŸŒΈπŸ¦‹πŸ«ΆπŸ½
@SuperblyLilac I find such puns ferny punny LOL πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜†
Thank you, as always @Seymour for bringing us the sunshine on days when maybe even our plant’s power isn’t quite enough ❀️πŸͺ¬ @teacher12 oh, please do some sort of plant growing with them!!
I think that there is something magical that happens when we grow plants together. As I recently said to a friend when trying to explain the connections we feel with other plant addicts -
β€œIt’s as if we too, in some invisible way, become linked by a mycelium of understanding as we feel the same thing when touching new growth. It roots our humanity.”
I think it’s why Peace Gardens calm our souls, they are a Faraday cage to the world, containing only the flux of constant creation, the nurturing forces of nature.
How old are your students?
I love the one that says β€˜I’m too busy working on my own garden to see if yours is greener’ because that is the art of not caring what others think k and going about your day.
@Sunshine_1303 Very true, reminds me of this quote which someone reminded me of recently
@MothGoblin Thanks for your lovely thoughts, Mel. There is also good science to the benefits of plants and related things (I’ve posted about this before) but it is also intangible
A garden can be an oasis in a mad world πŸ˜€πŸ‘πŸ™
My succulent window
@Seymour. The chess board!!!! OMG! I want to DUPLICATE THAT!!! GOALS!!!
@SuperblyLilac I am now singing "what a wonderful world" and will have it in my head for the rest of the day πŸ€—
@Seymour LOL!πŸ˜‚
@Seymour
Will do! I'd love to share. Since my good friend is much better with the camera, next time she's over, I'll ask her to take photos of "the kids".
I also splurged on a distiller so I now can make my own distilled water! While using it, it throws off a lot of heat so it will be great when the snow flies.
I always love your and other plants πŸͺ΄ ❀️ that you post.
Interesting and beautiful!
@SuperblyLilac what a wonderful world. Love that song!!!
@Seymour awww! Thank you. I teach high school with my friend @Pine.and.Dime. She has her kids propagating and I hope to join in soon. It gets a little challenging with 36 kids, but there is a grant I can tap into, so I think we’ll start our project after winter break so we don’t lose any 😱🌱 I can’t wait.
The kids are just like us and can’t help themselves but to get excited about new life. It must be a human life thing #FreshLeafFriday #PlantsMakePeopleHappy
