Hello Brodie ☺️

How long have you had her?
The calatheas can take quite a bit of time yo adjust to their new surroundings.

I also find that mine can sometimes stop when they want their leaves cleaned or they are getting thirsty. β˜ΊοΈπŸ’§
I dust my Calathea regularly and turn her (not full half turns as she's up against my - decorative - fireplace) but just small moves to keep her full looking and healthy. You can absolutely trim older and damaged leaves too, just be sure to sterilise your scissors/ snips before hand. They like even moisture to keep growing. I recently had a surprise when my Velvet flowered! Lovely wee yellow blooms at the base... I had no idea (I'm a fairly new plant parent and only got my Velvet 6 months ago but she's grown LOADS! πŸ₯°) xx
@JenniB81 I refrain from turning my bigger calatheas, as it takes a lot of energy for them to turn their leaves in another direction. 🌿🌞
Or at least that is what I have noticed with mine, as they take at least a week to fully open and close again when I did turn them ☺️

The smaller ones seem to adapt much easier to being moved and turned tho ☺️πŸͺ΄

Have you noticed any changes like that, too? Or is it maybe just mine that are drama queen's πŸ˜…
