My tradescantia hasn’t been doing too good due to neglect on my part. I have been going through a bit of a depression burnout lately and have been struggling with keeping up with a few of my plants. I trimmed off all the dead stuff and replanted all the vines then gave the pot a good water. I know it could use a shallow pot but I don’t have one at the moment so plain old terracotta pot will have to do for now. #PlantAddict #Neglected #Oof #MyBad #TradescantiaZebrina
4ft to light, indirect
6” pot with drainage

Sometimes I don’t even bother repotting and keep these going in water πŸ’¦
Have you thought about trimming it and putting it into a terrarium? Mine is thriving in one!
These are so resilient! I am trying to fill my pot out and have just been cutting and stuffing the stem right back into soil!
@WelsomeRhodotus I didn’t repot I just stirred up the soil to make it more spongy and soft because it was hydrophobic and the vines were so damaged and dead at the bases that there was nothing even really in the pot soil. So I had to start them over. Usually I would do that exact thing but this time it was just too far gone.
@ForestOfGreen I have! I have some in a a large terrarium that seem to be doing well at the moment! :)
@CreativePlanera I do this when I’m not going through burnout for sure :)
Oh, this plant will kick back for sure! Mine roots started rotting, so I just cut off salvageable stems with leaves, stuck them in a pot, and now it’s super bushy and beautiful. Cheers!
Anyway, first taking care of myself, and only after that go plants! ❀️
