@theloveofplants 😅😅 thank you!!! Appreciate the effort lol I’m kinda obsessed with smelling the blooms of plants and am always curious to know how they smell. The best smelling bloom I’ve had so far is from Alocasia wentii, it smelled like bubble gum 🤭 and second was Alocasia silver dragon smelled like earthy honey. I have some Hoyas and I’m desperate to see if they’ll ever bloom because I hear their blooms smell the best!
@julesplants - I was happy to get all up in there and give her a sniff! 😆 I was surprised that there is no scent. OoOo I had to look up an alocasia wentii-that plant is a stunner! I have no luck with alocasia plants. I have killed them all. 😅 I love that the bloom smells like bubble gum! I also have a few Hoya plants and I am loving them so much! Yes, if one of them blooms - I will be all up in there smelling them! I also heard it is safe to give the flowers and little lick - apparently they taste good too! The best houseplant flower I have smelled thus far is a sting of pearls. The flower smells like a mix on cinnamon and vanilla! And the bloom is just as cute as can be!
@theloveofplants 😅😅 I was surprised too and also surprised that my philodendron ring of fire bloom had no smell either I was a little sad. And lol true she’s a beaut. All I have are alocasias lol they do well with me thankfully.
I’m sooo excited to see if they’ll bloom and yes lmao I wanna taste it too!
Ooooh I’m shocked to find out that bloom doesn’t look similar to string of hearts blooms. String of hearts blooms don’t smell either lol

I have heard you either get alocasia plants or you don’t. I don’t. 🤣 I love the way they look. But as soon as I bring them home=dead. But that is okay, I have so many other plants to care for and love! I am so glad your alocasia plants do well for you! ♥️

I was nervous about getting any string of things because I’ve heard a lot about them dying etc but my string of hearts changed my perspective

The key to spring of pearls - in my experience - they do NOT like to be overwatered. I sometimes forget to water mine and she is thriving! They love light from the top - if possible. So I have a grow light in the soil. That has also really helped!

Pothos plants are just simply awesome! And SO easy to propagate and make MORE plants! 🪴 😬

@theloveofplants thank you thank you! And I agree lol pothos are an all around great plant. And thanks yes the variegation is my favorite. It shows so much pink in the sun.
