Was wondering if anyone knew what happened to my dragon velvet alocasia ? Every single leaf had started turning yellow #NewGrowth #PlantAddict #plantdad #Dyingplant

@Bigleaves I would. You picked up an alocasia and they are rather picky plants, in my experience. It's taken me two years to finally get my alocasia polly to stop dropping leaves.

If you are in for the long-haul, I'd find a bright spot in your house (maybe an east-facing window) that doesn't get harsh light. You'll need to not let the soil dry out - ever. The yellowing leaves will die away.

I would start looking for a pot that's about 2 or 3 centimeters larger in diameter than the pot you have now. It'll need a new pot eventually.

But for now, buckle up- you'll be losing some leaves until you find your plant's happy spot and happy pot and watering rhythm. With proper continued care, you will get new leaves.οΏΌοΏΌ
Oh no! How long have you had it? The pot seems really small for the plant.οΏΌ
I agree fully with @sarahsalith try to repot and see if that helps! Also make sure to look close at the roots and make sure they’re healthy all the way round!
@sarahsalith I only brought it from a garden centre about 3 weeks ago
@Blananaba okay thankyou for your help !!
@Bigleaves if you've only had it for three weeks, it's clearly having a hard time acclimating. Remember, since it came from a nursery, it was getting the best care and lighting and water and all that- you need to attempt to recreate the plant's best environment. Sometimes it takes a while.
@sarahsalith okay thankyou , so would you reccomend keeping it in the same pot for now ?
@sarahsalith thankyou very much for your help!! I shall try all of those things and hopefully she comes back and starts thriving again
