Do you know why my plant is growing slowly
@JovialRoussea49 congrats on your new plant! A few questions: how big is the rootball compared to the pot size?
Plant care quick tips:
Only water when soil is 1/2 to 1/4 dry & you can check with a chopstick, butter knife, etc.
Fertilizer (low dose if itβs not a 1-1-1 / indoor plant food) when you water. Donβt fertilizer if you arenβt seeing any new growth (your pic has new buds & leaves forming).
If youβre growing a plant they need lots of sunlight (or food!) try substituting sunlight with a grow light for longer in the day. Donβt place your plant too close to the light bulb or it will burn π₯Ή
Please let me know what questions you have! :) @JovialRoussea49 best of luck!!π±β¨π₯³

@Prentyce wdym root ball?
@JovialRoussea49 sorry! I meant the root size sometimes roots look all sorts of ways!! Hehe ! The size of the roots when you take it out of the pot π€© I know for seeds itβs a lot different, did you start the mango in that pot? (What size is it) ? :)
@Prentyce yes i started the both mango seeds in the pot I had 4 but 2 of them rotted and I donβt want to pull it out risking braking the stem or root system
@JovialRoussea49 the reason behind the size questioning: seeds need lots of water and nutrients of course, but when you put them in a large container (not in ground, thatβs a diff story π€) the water will often sink to the bottom of the pot. It wonβt leave enough for the plant or youβll have the reverse effect. There will be too much water in the pot and the plant is unable to uptake it quickly leading to lots of issuesβ¦ think root rot, leaf edema (when a plant uptakes water too quickly, causing its cells to burst), and more. So pot size and root health is crucial to success :) @JovialRoussea49
@JovialRoussea49 the only issue is.. the other ones rotted in the pot π that means the root rot, or seed rot, is still present in the soil. I would as carefully as you can repot the little guy in something smaller. If you have hydrogen peroxide or ground cinnamon, youβll want to use that to disinfect the roots. And donβt use the same soil, or if you have to youβll want to boil it. Iβm so sorry!! Seed starting is so fickle π₯Ήβ¨π±
@Prentyce ok I thing I have a picture of the og seed it was pretty big sized unfortunately I canβt find it but these are the pictures I took while it was growing I canβt find see the seed a bit in one of them
@Prentyce oh donβt worry i prepared for that but duming the feet in each pot and switching it
Oh sweet!! @JovialRoussea49 well if thatβs working π€©π₯³ I LOVE THE WEE ONE!! Oh my gosh!!! Ahhh!! Oh stop now Iβm gonna start my freaking seeds out of jealousy π₯Ήπ
@JovialRoussea49 YES BECAUSE THE MORE THE MERRIER!!!!
@Prentyce look itβs pretty cool if u ask me
@Prentyce oh yea I also have 2 lemon bushes in bad condition and a tomato plant that barely grows anymore along with a spicy pepper plant that makes small but spicy peppers they are all looking a bit dead thoπ«€
Hm well it is winter and I will say sometime these guys donβt produce year round π especially the peppers. Even indoors. Sometimes youβll have success with hydroponics π€· itβs okay though. You can prune them or let the leaves fall. Keep giving sun and water. Thatβs it (lol unless you knew that already) @JovialRoussea49
@Prentyce ok well I will come back with the next piece of new I hear
@TheConservator ok ty
