Its a beautiful saturday morning and #TheThread is broadcasting live from a cozy fireside chair this morningπ₯βοΈ. Im going to really try to motivate today and get lots of planty stuff done! Ive made a distiller decision finally! Im keeping it upstairs in the kitchen. I think i found a dedicated plug i can use thats seperate from the microwave and espresso machine. π! Also have plants of all shapes and sizes needing repotted today or tomorrow.... or both ! Whats your guys big weekend plans π€??? As usual it was hard to choose todays pics! But i weeded em down, now on to the show! Pic 1 is from @LushLeaves25 with her new epiprenmum marble kingπ€©what a beauty! Pic 2 is a shot of @Hoyaobsessed hard work and ingenuity with her succulents nicely arranged and wired down for their summer home. All safe and secure from those texas tornadoesπ±! Pic 3 is from @HisLobster with some spring time blooms to brighten our day! PLANT MAIL! Pic 4 is from @TheOddAsity showing us her latest delivery of awesome hoyas! That vg kerri is sweetπ! And pic5 is from @MusicalRedmint wuth her hoya thomsonii. She was just posting to compare to mine. But damn those fuzzy leaves !π₯°π₯°π₯° just love the fuzzy ones π€·ββοΈ! Anyway, have a great saturday and PLANT IT! #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #GregPlantShop #GregGang #Monstera #VenusFlyTrap #Sarracenia #CactusClique #SucculentSquad
@emmiev123 @YammieOf3 @SweetAzurebluet @nellz4estfairyz @JenniferNoel @princesspitstop @Shells_Garden @UltraKoreanfir @SuperbRaspfern @CutePolypremum @stephonicle @RealSimpleMama @WelsomeRhodotus @Ms.Persnickety @mtplantlady @MariansOasis @Blueberrypie @OrangeGrass @BrawnyMachofern @elisenavidad @CourtlyKingfern and the tags π
Oh. Thanks again π, though, since we were washing through I'd issues in the last thread already, I need to nitpick more. If my seller is too believed, mine is the sp.aff. thomsonii. Which tracks, because it is supposed to be even a tiny bit more fuzzy than the thomsonii π @TheOddAsity must have missed your haul, while skipping through yesterday's post. Don't tempt me, lady. I've been soooo good. Have had no trips to my hoya shop whatsoever.
@MusicalRedmint i just need to make anotger tag for it and keep@both in it until it flowers lol
Good idea. Though your last picture really let me lean away from the spectatissima againπ€¦ββοΈ this is my baby one, btw. It does a have a slight fuzz on the leaves and even more on the stem (and the "correct" leaf shape), but nowhere near as much pubescence as the one in your last picture. Maybe she will get more fuzzy once established, and I know, I have seen pics of some slightly more fuzzy ones.... but still, right now even my Mathilde is fuzzier than that.
@MusicalRedmint lol damn hoyas! Always guessing ππ€·ββοΈ
@LushLeaves25 i love marble king! Best epipremnum there is ππ
@TheOddAsity β¦and the random alocasia π
@TheConservator ok I think I missed what plant you are using that huge moss pole for! I think it may be taller than I am ! Thanks for the shout out this morning on my outside rack! I think almost everything inside should be watered but going from winter watering to spring / summer watering is trickyβ¦ so Iβm pushing it off one more day at least. @MusicalRedmint love how you are more active on here Iβve missed you!! No plant chores for me in a few Iβm going to have grandbabyβ¦ he is 2β¦ so nothing else gets done the moment he steps in the door!!! Good Saturday yaβll from 90 degree today Texas!
@Hoyaobsessed lol the pole is way bigger than it needs to be now! But i dont want to try to change it later in a few years. Its for sure getting my thai con, and brazil micans. The 3 rd plant im trying to decide, but im leaning towards my skeleton key. Get the thai and skelly growing mostly up the pole. Micans mostly out the side of the pot and over .
Woohoo grand kids time π @Hoyaobsessed
@TheConservator ahh ok so you are using it for 3 plants . Cool! Canβt wait to see it when you get it done !!!!
Ill start getting the water line run to it while it rinses its last time. Then i think i need to just commit to insecticide weekend for EVERYTHING! Be much easier to take cacti all outside rather than kitchen or bath to do insecticide. And its goung to be nice enough even to leave em out for the night if i need to. Prob still need to do tropicals in the tub
Good morning y'all here @ #thethread well it's 7 am here and already 70Β°, so yep another hot one today π₯΅
Have some flower stalks on a couple of my girls so I'm really excited to see them open up π All my African Violets and one of my Peperomias are supposed to arrive today π₯³πso I may have to find pots for everyone (if they don't come in them) π€
Have a great Saturday y'all π

Good morning everyone!

@TheConservator thank you for the shout out!
Thinking about when I should get it repotted. Noticed there are some roots hanging out of the bottom.

@Hoyaobsessed thank you. I enjoy looking in on you all again. Let's see how long that will last. I'm straddling my still ongoing regular doctors' appointments and physiotherapy alongside some trial period (part time) in my new job with lots of new responsibilities. For me, that's quite a lot. But nothing like a hoya id discussion, musings about terminal blooms on succulents or rants about phals in soil to draw me in again during a 10 minute lull π - at least until I quietly disappear again. Have fun with your grandchild
#TheThread @TheConservator Good Morning! π beautiful weather here, today in New Mexico, temperature going up to 89β’ degrees! Here is my favorite Pearl Echeveria aka βElinaβ and my String of π¬π¬π¬π¬π¬π¬s aka βNemoβ who is growing by the minute. He will soon need his own space! Everyone have a great Saturday on purpose, with a lil music πΈπ₯πΉπΊπ»π· along the way!
@SweetAzurebluet gorgeous (including those in the background)!
@TheConservator what were the two plants that you sent that were in cups..one looks like a Swiss cheese philo and the other looks like a neon green philo of some sort. All of the leaves are the light bright yellow green color
@SweetAzurebluet thatβs a healthy and happy π oasis!!
@TheConservator what are you using for your insecticide??
Im using bonide systemic this time. But i use the hi yield systemic sometimes too. @Hoyaobsessed
Bonide is liquid concentrate. Hi yield is sprinkle on and mix into top of soil . I use the hi yueld stuff alot more on outside stuff than inside @Hoyaobsessed
@TheConservator
Hello lovely plant peeps π
It's late afternoon here in upstate NY.
We had a surprising 4"of wet snow overnight and earlier this morning!
I spent a bulk of the last 3 hours watering and plant puttering. One of these days I'll take some photos to share some of the gang with you. I'm such a procrastinator and since most of my plants are on a high console, they have to be brought to a lower level where they can be displayed.
@TheConservator
The kitchen sounds like an awesome place to put your new distiller. Such a great investment!
Tomorrow's my granddaughter's birthday. Yikes π³...12 years old already!
Where did the years go?
I miss those earlier times when we had tea parties with her dolls and favorite teddy bear. Also, when she'd put her ballet π©° tutu on. Yaya (me) would play the small cassio while she twirled around.
I'm sure exciting times are coming!
Enjoy your weekend π π π π

@CutePolypremum yeah time goes by way to fast!π definately dont waste time you could spend with family scrolling on your devices! Before you know it theyre gone.
@SweetAzurebluet sexy oasis ππ±ππ€·ββοΈ
The yellow has to be a golden croc. The swiss cheese prob is just that . @Hoyaobsessed
@TheConservator ok good deal I am using the bonide as well. Seems to be gentle enough for everythjbg
@Hoyaobsessed yup its the golden. And yeah i use bonide on everuthing except orchids and carnivorous
@TheConservator I use the bonide spray on my orchids for scale and it is very gentle on them. I love the golden croc! Itβs pretty ! I donβt know why I hadnβt asked before what it was
@TheConservator ππ
@SweetAzurebluet there is actually scientific evidence they do. Ive even seen a "did you know "clip about it on gregs feeds. Plus other places.
We had our driveway seal coated today so that was nice! Very much needed it. My husband immediately went to playing with some remote control planes on the fresh runway lol. I dragged a bunch of plants outside to get some fresh air for a few days before back in the garage for another freeze:/ stap!!! First/third pics are my front walkway, then the βnewβ driveway. And finally my bleeding heart from last year coming out looking like some bloody celery lol π Iβm so excited for her blooming this year!
@TheConservator runners? I believe sundew is one of the few CPs that have runners, but i'm not sure. 7in. in 24hrs would deserve the name runners tho
Late plant update! Just wanted to share this beautiful new leaf from my new RoF! π Didn't know they got so pink [it was probably pinker yest, but I wasn't around and was too tired anyway]. And bonus photo of the banana lily pad :) [darn lily dislodged itself, have to put it back tmr during maintenance session]
@AC73LoveCats at least you got spring π. As i'm typing this we're having a sudden tropical monsoon. Rain in Singapore is soo unpredictable sometimes, it was hot and sunny in the morning!
EDIT: just saw your comment saying "you ladies". I'm male and prob shouldn't have replied but would anyways
