It was rheumatology day! And we should know by now that my local Trader Joe’s is just down the road from my rheumatologist’s office, therefore you know what that means, right?
Yep! #PlantHaul!! Especially tickled to find FRYDEKS in stock for the first time since last year!! The two I got will never replace my beloved and dearly departed Freya, but I am thrilled to have a Frydek back in my life. Just something about these guys that makes my heart happy sigh. 🥰

I’m dying to try them; they practically jumped off the shelf, screaming at me to eat them! LOL I’m such a sucker for citrusy desserts and such. Except lemon meringue. For some reason I find it too strong of a flavor. 🤷🏼♀️

@maddismaw I sometimes am, too, but I get trigger injections and a B12 shot when I go to the rheumatologist, so I’m usually happy when I leave, and I’ve been having a pretty good week pain-wise so far and I’ve been in a good mood, too, which also helps with energy. Plus, if I’m out and close to TJ’s, I don’t pass that up. LOL 😜
@Shells_Garden I know; I’ve felt the same since losing all but two of mine, buuuuut… Come on. It’s the Frydek. Plus, that’s the plant that brought me to Greg, so I have to give it another try!

@HisLobster, I absolutely LOVE Orchids. My home has forced air, and the setup puts them in the draft, and they die; and my windows are south facing.

@SoulfulBookaloe Um, not sure to be honest. 🤷🏼♀️ Might be a location thing. I mean over the years I’ve found a few at box stores like Lowe’s etc., (I got Fabio from Home Depot last summer I think it was—first picture), and my fave nursery out here always has them; I got Boris (not pictured) there and that’s also where I got my variegated spider, Venom (second picture), and all three of them were large-ish plants that had lots of spiderettes already when I bought them.
@CourtlyKingfern Thank you, Evelyn! I love it, too. I find it relaxing while also kinda blending exotic with romantic in combination with my bookcases and some of my furnishings etc…
@FitFrithia71 Aw, I’m sorry to hear that! We have central heating and air conditioning, which is good because not only is it hot AF here for more than half the year, I feel like I’m constantly picking up new orchids; I mean I don’t know what I’d do if the only place I had for them was smack dab in a draft. Could you maybe find a semi-attractive tabletop greenhouse kind of thing for one to live in? IKEA carries some now that are decorative (ish) and functional, and I’m sure the Zon has a bunch, too; though I haven’t looked personally yet.
@LimberPrasium Yep! Go see your GP for bloodwork, or get yourself a consult with a rheumatologist. Either way, you should see a doctor or nurse practitioner. Best thing you can do if you suspect something like RA, or any other kind of autoimmune disease. That sh!t shouldn’t be left untreated, or you risk lasting damage, or worse in severe cases.
